Standard Chartered is not very good (from my personal experience). Their online banking is excellent.
I think the charges he mentioned is the tax imposed by gov. on transactions => 25000. All banks will charge that.

their is 0.25% tax on every transaction over 25 or 50 thousand.
It's their from 2/3 years now, if i remember correctly in this budget it's raise to 0.35%
Customer service is so lame that you feel like you are in some government office . Just for a small thing a poor banker will be running around in office to get permission from manager or what not . Not to mention most of the managers sit in office , talk on phone and enjoy chai .
Customer service at all the private banks can be compare to any Western Bank - well oki..not 100% to the levels of west.. but believe me it's a lot better then it was like 10 years ago.
Askar is semi-government part of Fauji group, indirectly own by Pak Army.

Ok I just checked from a bank and this cap is no more there . Now even you withdraw Rs.10 from bank , it will charge you this tax . A really really bad news for poor people .
You’re better off keeping your money under your matress/chaar-pai ka gadda

I udnno about duputtay ka pallu but most women I've seen hide it in their bras. But htat only works if the um "purse" is "deep" enough

For customer service: Not only Askari bank… there are various others too who have same attitudes/environments… but I would add one thing.. Sometimes it depends upon the manager too. A corrupt manager will have corrupt staff most likely..
For charges: you are helpless 
I have also seen women withdrawing the money from that place… ugh
And once I saw a cashier (at a departmental store) sniffing the currency after the departure of the lady… disgusting

I knew Habib Bank's dealings because my father has account in it. Going to Habib Bank was like going to a government office. Too many people, lack of professionalism, long waits for anything you want to do.
I opened my first account in Muslim Commercial Bank. And found it very good compared to Habib Bank. I never had any issues with MCB.

I feel like its one of the govt run Indian bank
use citi. i have citi here in amerika and it is very convenient to use my debit card in pak citi banks...they have atm machines in atleast isl and rwp.
