Since Yousuf is out from the team ( seems for ever now), and under the new management, do you think Asim Kamal has any chance of coming back in the middle order, specially in the test squad.
btw, does any one know what is he doing these days..

good question... I wonder what he's up to these days. It's a pity that he didn't get the opportunity to show his talent. He seemed to have a lot of potential but then again, I haven't seen him recently.

his average is superb,, and he used to be our only mr. dependable when he played...I noticed onething, that he only performed well when Pakistan was under deep trouble and he was under pressure, else when the table was well set he was unable to perform.

His international career was destroyed by our cricket board. The guy continued to score ton of runs in domestic cricket. He knows how to stay on the wicket and battle it out.

There was a talk at one time of Asim Kamal filling in the shoes once the big ones leave the scene. Misbah has taken over that role and filling it quite well. That is why we (selectors) transitioned from picking the usual cycle of Hafeez/Nazir/Farhat (when they were available before ICL), Asim Kamal and others (Shahid Nazir?) and moved onto new talent in the domestic circuit. Even the bowling talent is up and coming. The never-ending Mohammad Sami cycle is done and dusted with (not saying he won't ever come back. Mohammad Sami is a legendary bowler).
