Mohammad Asif, the Pakistan fast bowler, has apologised to the nation for his repeated misdemeanours. Asif, who was in tears during an interview to a TV channel, vowed to come back a reformed man.
“I have committed mistake after mistake and for that I apologise to the nation,” Asif said on the Geo Super channel. “I have disregarded the green Pakistan blazer but I promise that if I get the next chance I will be a totally changed player.”
Most of you guys have read this already couple of days ago on cricinfo. Haven’t been able to see this full interview yet. I am hoping it will shown here in US sometime tomorrow on Geo. Hate to say this but I think the motive probably is that PCB might soften it’s stance on him. I heard couple of weeks ago that PCB has already decided not to ake any action on his Dubai Episode.
Anyway will be able to discuss more on it once we see the full interview.
Anyway there is a clip on you tube on this interview from Geo News. A brief report of this interview of Asif with Fakhar is followed by Shoaib’s brief interview where he talked about his dance with Isha Deol and why he did it
Re: Asif apologises for repeated mistakes - Emotional Interview with Fakhar
bechara. i forgive him, especially in light of 37 overs in one day.
i look forward to seeing him in the team again. i have always maintained that someone so obviously mentally vacant probably did think it was hakeem ki dawai each of those times he got in trouble. he has never appeared very bright to me.
Re: Asif apologises for repeated mistakes - Emotional Interview with Fakhar
"Oh what is this? Is it hakeem ki dawai? Let me inject it, I think I have a cold" - Mohammad Asif, 2006
"Oh what is this? Is it hakeem ki dawai? Let me smoke it in my bong, I think I have a stomach upset" - Mohammad Asif - June 2008 in Dubai
"Are you sure this is hakeem ki dawai yar? I got in trouble in dubai, they wanted to make me a camel jockey like they treat all their non-arab prisoners. Oh well okay, I guess I'll snort one line. I think I have flu" - Mohammad Asif July 2008.

now his 37-38 overs (for his mulk, for his country, for his nation ) making me think that how come shoaib’s envious nature wont gonna set all this against Asif?
I have a lot of problems with desi cricketers who make lofty statements about their "selfless service to the country".
Playing professional cricket for one's country is an employment that provides more than generous monetary compensation not to mention the fame it brings and is not the same thing as a "jawan" putting his life in the line for his country in a war.
Why should Asif bowling 37 overs in a day be considered any different from me putting in a 12 hours work day.

PS: I agree. They dont do it for free and you forgot to add other lucrative offeres that they get because of all this fame
