What the hell is wrong with PCB, not playing Saqlain is a huge mistake, rmember the last time our team played without a specialist spinner, we lost to England in the first test last summer. Saqlain is must on the team, green pitch or not, you always have to have a specialist spinner, afridi and malik don't count as specialst spinners, they are part time bowlers.
Micheal Bevan who is probably the best one day batsman in the world, you don't see him playing for the test team.
Srilankans just played well, anything under 300 scored by srilanka will be good enough for our batsman to chase, the pitch will certainly help the speedys tommorrow, so we will wait and see.
192/1 at lunch day 2
Sangakarra 100*
Jayasuria 80*
What about Pakistan's innings defeat as they are not as great cricketers to play well in pressure and make a come back.....shayad koi VVS Laxman hamari team mein bhi ho....
Wasim Akram will be happy with this situation as bowling is failed...

WOuld agree with you on the consistency but note that Sri Lanka is not the best cricket team. So what if we start losing against Sri but then start winning against Australia or South Afr. What then?
The OPening was a bad one!

This is the time for those idiots at pcb to realize that if saqlain would have been around, srilanka wouldn't have scord that high.
Good performance by Sangakkara, it looks like an inning defeat for Pakistan.
Oh heck!!! where is the PCB’s new wonder boy for whom they sacrificed a world class spinner. The folly of PCB’s silly policy of dropping Wasim and Saqlain is now coming home to roost. You can’t just do away with so much experiene and talent and think it will not make a difference.

I said Sri Lanka is the best team in SOUTH ASIA. Also Let's not talk hypothetically and assume too many things. You should accept the fact that Pakistan is not the best team in the world. Give the Credit where it is due and accept the fact that Sri Lanka is a better team.
Ehsan, seems like Malik is not PCB’s wonder boy but Waqar’s bosom buddy. The selectors wanted to play Shadab Kabir as opener but waqar was leaning towards Malik as is suggested by the following article. I think Kabir should have been given a chance given that he has served his time outside of the team.
Placing too much expectations on a player is detrimental to both the player and the team. Remember the gold rush when Younis did very well in his first ODI. Eevntually Younis had to be dropped for some time because of lack of performance and Tauqir Zia said that he was disappointed by Younis Khan’s inability to live upto his promise. http://www.dawn.com/2002/03/07/spt3.htm
Waqar and selectors at odds over Shadab
By Our Special Representative
LAHORE, March 6: The Pakistan cricket selectors had wanted to include Shadab Kabir in the 14-man squad for the Asian Test Championship final but the idea was rejected by skipper Waqar Younis.
According to highly placed sources, the selectors had maintained that the left-hander had batted well in the sole innings of the first Test against Bangladesh and deserved another opportunity. Shadab had got a poor decision in the only innings of the second Test.
“But the skipper had more confidence in the abilities of Shoaib Malik rather than Shadab. In the end he rejected the idea and the selectors were left with no option but to leave the youngster out of the 14-man squad,” sources said.
"We always try to accommodate the demands and requirements of the captain. And that’s precisely why Shadab was not included. But after the squad is handed over to the captain, the selectors can’t influence their views on final selection,’ sources said.
Pakistan selectors have tried Imran Farhat, Saleem Elahi, Ijaz Ahmad, Saeed Anwar, Abdur Razzaq, Taufiq Umer, Shadab Kabir, Naved Latif and Shahid Afridi in 11 different combinations in the last 12 months.

I'm not argueing with you on that (Sri Lanka is second best!), but the fact is that Pakistan has better Bowlers then Sri Lanka. So my point is that even if the Opening was a bad one, they could have done better in Fielding and Bowling. Don't you think?
It's just the attitude of our people.
Once they start realizing they are losing they show disinterest in it.
Hardly any fighting spirit.
Therefor I appreciate Imran Khan and it's willpower!
That's what I'm stating.
