Zardari makes half-a-minute speech on polity in Pakistan

*LAHORE: Leader of the Pakistan Peoples Part, Asif Zardari surprised the workers and mediamen Tuesday night when he finished his speech in less than half a minute in his first public appearance following withdrawal of his detention orders. *
*PPP-P Lahore President Azizur Rehman Chan had arranged a reception in the honour of Asif Zardari at his G.T Road residence, and he was supposed to address the workers gathered there. *
*Zardari uttered only a few words and left for dinner arranged inside Chan’s residence. *
‘Benazir to be PM’
*Zardari just contented to say “We would pave the way for Benazir Bhutto to become Prime Minister for the third term, and that PPP-P would take over the leadership of Punjab by forcing the current rulers to flee. *
*At the end, Zardari thanked the workers for according him such a warm welcome and left the venue of public meeting. *
Speaking on the occasion, PPP-P Punjab President Qasim Zia said Punjab rulers must understand that PPP-P workers were a hard nut to crack, and hence could not be suppressed. “We would not rest till accomplishment of our goal”, he said and added “BB would become PM of the country for the third time”.
*Lauding the gallantry of Asif Zardari, Qasim Zia called him an “Asian Nelson Mandela”. *
Pakistan’s ex-Foreign Minister Sardar Assef Ahmed Ali, PPP-P Secretary General Jehangir Badr, Naveed Chaudhry, Munir Ahmad Khan, Samiullah Khan, Sajida Mir and Deputy Secretary Information PPP-P Lahore, Syed Wajid Ali Shah were also present on the occasion.
