Is this the correct spelling? Are they a brit-asian band? I was in Tower records the other day and just started listening to one of their cds, recorded live from their tour in Japan, and they sound so cool. I think Ive been missing out on something big.

ADF are amazing, they are a brit asian band, if you like the non bhangra brit-asian music scene, look int Fun-Da-Mental as well. they are more of a hardcore sound than ADF but are an amazing band. I had mentioned these bans here on GS a few times. I have known the guys from both bands for sometime and the interesting thing is that even though membership of the band has changed over the years, the band has stayed intact.
Anothe rgreat artist is Joi, think of desi depeche mode..electronica with a desi touch to it.

I once joined my friend who had an interview with Aki Nawaz (fundamental). The guy is sooo funny when he speaks in urdu, hahahha. I had to control my laughs and at the end of the interview my jaws were hurtin. Great guy though :k:
OK, I am already in love. Where can I get their tracks? I am visiting Pakistan in december. Do you Iwill have any luck there finding it?
asif...you can buy most of the records online, try nation records. these guys are nto well known in Pakistan so i doubt they will be easy to find.
most of their stuff u can order from any record store in Uk or US.
shinoo. Aki is a great guy, are you making fun of poor guy's accent in urdu? it has become better over the years, especially when mush was in the band, since his departure David has probably Aki back to the usual.

Awwww, ofcourse not! I think it was very cute and funny at the same time :)
My friend was asking the questions in english (cuz he himself was insecure about his urdu, being punjabi n everything) and Aki wanted to reply in urdu himself, so I think that was very commendable!
Oops I forgot all about this thread! Thanks Mr frauds, I really do like the brit-asian music, with the bhangra. Ive heard of Hard Kaur, shes a girl isnt it? Ill be sure to check those out, Ive been looking for good dance music. :k:
cattie
yeah hard kaur is a girl.
khtaab may be too political for ya
and dont go for muslimgauze unles su are into really experimental music, its not dancy
Fraudia, i was checking the links you gave. The Fun Da Mental had some cool loops and stuff in the audio portion. I be sure to check oout their CDs. Hadnt realized they had produced so many. Also that T-shirt looks funny, I might order and wear it ahha. Hows Cheb I Sabah? I ran into their website etc and thought they had a politcal theme to them?
Cheb is actually in your neck of the woods, well north of you in the bay area. Cheb mixes arab and desi melodies and instruments with electronica, trance techno stuff.. He has been doing it for sometime and some work is very dancey some is pretty ambient and some is political.
Fraudia have u listened to their song called "Strong Culture " juttla mix?
yeah strong words in that song, a good beat...and as much as one may or may not like the message or words, its the reality of how many asians felt growing up..and speaks for a lot of them.
I just like the attitude :)
