Sunday, June 29, 2008
Start time 16.00 (local), 10.00 (GMT)

some trivia taken from cricinfo..

Since 2006, Pakistan have a win-loss ratio of 5 in ODIs against Sri Lanka. Against no other team is their win-loss ratio better than 1.5.

Pakistan also have an excellent record against Sri Lanka in Karachi, winning four out of five matches. In Asia Cup clashes, however, Sri Lanka have won six out of nine.

Sri Lanka’s top three batsmen don’t have great stats versus Pakistan: Kumar Sangakkara averages 30.15, Jayasuriya 33.65 and Jayawardene 28.62 against them.

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Srilanka...29th June 2008

Pakistan need to win this match in order to stay in hunt ..
but defiantly they will face some problem in their bowling department ....

lets see wat happens 2day ...

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Srilanka...29th June 2008

oh yeah with the rib injury of umar gul.. do you think we lost the india match because he was not available to bowl?

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

Toss, 3.30 pm local time: Shoaib Malik has just throw my prediction out of the window. He's decided to bowl, Jayawardene isn't too fussed at all, he said he would have batted anyway.

3.22 pm local time: The pitch is flat once again. Dhoni had mentioned that the pitch for the India-Pakistan match was one of the flattest he'd played on. I don't expect that to change for the remainder of the tournament. Win toss and bat should be the way to go.

HAAAA PAK WILL BOWL FIRST

ALLAH RAHAM FARMAYAY

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka…29th June 2008

what!! Pakistan is bowling first:eek: WOW okk they will have to bowl really well and restrict Sri Lanka to get an attainable target.
yeah exactly ALLAH RAHAM farmaye!

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

can anyone give me an educated guess about what Pakistan's chances of winning are?

After the Blunder at Toss from Malik i'd say

This Match: About 30% - 35%

This Cup: Less than 30%

And let me tell u i'm quite optimistic

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

OUTTTTTTTTTTTT!!! 22/1 Jaisurriya out!! LBW!!!!

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

Tanvir to Jayasuriya, out Lbw!! Bang on target, darts into the left hander ever so sharply, minimal effort to move the frontfoot out of the crease, traps him plumb infront, beautiful delivery from Tanvir really, he is so dangerous against the left handers, prize wicket for Jayasuriya for him! Jayasuriya lbw b Tanvir 8(14) [4s-1]

AIK BALAAA TO TALI
SHUKR HAI

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

SL 22/1 off 4.1 overs...

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

Now get the next 5 batsmen before SL get to 200 then we'll be in with a chance

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka…29th June 2008

Good start … By Pakistan …
but real problem is number of extras …
3 extras so far (all wides)

I hope Malik’s decision of bowling 1st wont backfire :bummer:

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

Sofar decent (not great) going by Pakistan

Rao bowled quite economically sofar

Wahab Riaz back into attack

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

41/1 ... changing field....

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008

Arun Lal and Waqar Younis in the comms box :(

Good effort by Afridi to save 1 run

And Rao now comes under fire from Mahela (127km/h on a flat wicket, no wonder i guess)

49-1 after 10 Overs

Re: Asia Cup: Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka...29th June 2008
