any channel is going to air the matches in US?
^ ARY Digital
pitches in SL will help spinners a great deal. Shoaib Malik and Danish Kaneria should have fun there.

check out the "Asia Cup 2004- TV coverage" thread for the channels and more info on that.
I see Asia cup as one of the last , if not THE last oppurtunity for Inzimam to prove his worth as captain. I would not be happy to see Moin back as captain but that might happen if Inzi shows his 'brilliant' captiancy (or the lack of it) on the field.

pcb have been for a while now been linking younis khan as the next pak captian i don't see moin getting the job again, i personally feel yousef youhana is @ the correct stage of his career to lead the national side.
Younis khan has to cement his place first. Youhana is the right captaincy metarial as he has shown in the oppurtunities he has got so far. But PCB is reluctant to give him the responsiblity now and they might opt for Moin if Inzi screws up.
Younis is a test material..I believe he should be a permanent member only in test matches. He isn't dynamic enough for ODI. If he was an allrounder or even a useful part time bowler kinda like Aamir Sohail or Salim Malik then yes. He can't win matches for pakistan in limited overs.
I have heard the same thing especially after the world cup that he would be groomed to be the next captain. To bad for him he has had weak showing since the last world cup. Still i think he can be one of Pakistan's best batsmen. He is one of the few players on this team that can take doubles and also take boundaries.
:k: agreed
Asim Kamal is out again?
I heard Asim Kamal is not playing in Asia Cup. This guy, no matter how hard he tries, can never convince selectors that he is the one that pakistan always needed.
Don’t make it sound so dramatic. Please keep things in perspective. He is an untested gun. Correct me if I am wrong but he has yet to show promise at the ODI level.
^ What do you think counts as promise for the one day level? Being one of the top scorers against India amongst a miserable batting performance not good enough? And exactly what sort of promise has Younis Khan shown?

He is good player, hard working, he has proven to cricket fans that he can play but unfortunately our selectors don’t select players from Karachi.

Are you on drugs? Younis is mostly over-rated, how many centuries did he do in last 3 years? NONE. He is sh!t compare to other cricket players in Pakistan who can perform better then him any day of the week. I would rather have Misbah-ul-Haq or Asim Kamal then Younis Khan.
Youhana :) is no captain material; he is decent player but no super start. PCB should have kept Rashid Latif as a captain, he was the best captain and player listen to him, Inzi is crap, Only reason he is still in the team is because he is patience, he is not creative but his shot selection is better then any Pakistan player.
-> Yasir Hameed has a potential become a great player if he can concentrate and work hard, improve his shot selection, "dedication and commitment," is the main thing.

I am surprised at the inclusion of Moin ahead of Kamran Akmal and also missing are Azhar Mahmood and most of all Asim Kamal. We have got to give Kamal a chance in ODI's.
[/QUOTE]
Azhar Mahmood is a spent force. Even his county drops him from the team in many matches. I agree about Asim Kamal. He should be given a chance. Youhanna will score against the smaller teams, but will shi! against real competition. Shoaib Malik will be another flop.

Youhana was awesome when he won us the test match against SA last year. He was calm under pressure and his field settings were innovative as well as result-oriented. Younis khan needs to perform this time around otherwise he will be gone forever.
I totally agree about Rashid Latif though.
p.s and yeah i might be on drugs
