Mcgrath in the squad for the decider. Good to see him back. Hopefully we will see a an australian side playing to their full potential and than getting their a$$ kicked.
**McGrath gets nod for Oval decider **
The 35-year-old paceman, who missed the fourth Test, came through a training session at The Oval on Wednesday and said “it’s business at usual”. McGrath will replace Mike Kasprowicz in Australia’s only probable team change.
How the might have fallen. Ponting is going around telling everyone that his captaincy is not to be blamed for the performances of senior players like Hayden, Martyn and Gillespie.
And once again we see them clutching to straws as Ponting said ‘we havent played to our best but we still have chance to take ashes home’
Aussies might win this match and they might not but this incredible showed that other teams are and have caught up with them.
I mean, if there's anything that could compare with the England yearning to win the Ashes after all this time - it's this Australian side not wanting to return home as the first Aussie side to lose the Ashes in over a decade and a half.
The Australian press over there is still a bit shell-shocked by the fact that they're looking likely to lose the Ashes and have been casting about desperately for some kind of explanation. The most oft-repeated refrain is that all of the team (with the exception of Fatso) are 'out of form'. It's almost as if they are reluctant to admit that they are simply a clear second-best to this England side.
On the other hand, they have been very complimentary about some England players, namely Flintoff and S.Jones.
Jones is going to be missed badly. He has the best bowling average on the England at about 21 runs per wicket and next best is Harmisson at about 28 runs per wicket.
The next five day forecast looks to be good but there will be showers. It's been a good summer of Cricket.
England playing Collingwood in place of Jones. I think this is a poor decision...Anderson would have been a much better choice because Collingwood is a poor bowler even though he can bat a bit...but I think England should have replaced a bowler with a bowler, not with an all-rounder. Now its gonna be even harder for them to bowl out the Aussies twice. I think this is a negative decision from England.
well there are two ways to look at it. Collingwood is a very able bat and an amazing fielder. With Jones out of picture, Hoggard specially will share greater workload and Collingood will support him plus twenty wickets for australia will be harder to get with Collingwood in the middle.
