Re: Ashes 2013
England 294/7 at the close on the third day
I think it will be a draw..
Even if Australia manage to dislodge the last three English wickets within an hour on Day 4, they will have to bat till well after tea to make the game safe. so not enough time for their bowlers (no quality test spinner) to dismiss England again in the second innings
Re: Ashes 2013
Assuming aussies have 200 run lead, cant they give follow on? That is their best chance to win. I forgrt min run lead needed for follow on.
If cant give follow on, and assuming England dismissed with 1 st hour, Aussies should declare as soon as they get 320 run lead. Which could be 1 hour before Tea break. Make it a deporting declaration. And tempt England to chase. Or go into shell.
And pray to Khwaja ji.
Re: Ashes 2013
Yes follow on is Aussies’ best chance and England need to score 328 - or another 34 runs - to avoid the follow on

Re: Ashes 2013
Looks like the luck is on England's side. They were heading towards defeat but the weather might save them.
Re: Ashes 2013
Rain has intervened to help England shut the door for Australia's entry to try and regain the Urn.
Re: Ashes 2013
England clinch series 3-0
Unbelievable batting slump by Australia. Needing 299 for victory they slipped from 168/2 - and seemingly cruising - to 224 all out. Broad (6/50) was the destroyer-in-chief
Re: Ashes 2013
Aus mimicking Pak .... from 109-1 to 224 when they had one full day++ to chase 299!
