Is there any link between Darwin Theory and Ashab u Sabt (people who turned into monkeys for not following orders)?

I thought the monkeys are still around. That's why they look so humanoid and appear like they can understand what we're saying.

The Darwin theory suggests gradual evolution from apes to humans whereas here Quran talks about humans becoming abject 'apes'.

From what I have read, turning of people into apes was not a physical metamorphosis, but rather a moral metamorphosis. Those people did not physically turn into apes, but their habits became that of an apes.

Darwin theory is just a 'theory' not 'fact' and 'Ashab-us-sabt', was a fact (in history).

Unfortunately its hard to use that logic.
Allah swt also turned Humans into Pigs (their faces changed to pigs for defying Allah swt’s warning through His messenger) so that does not mean that there is a link between Pigs and Human either.
(Only when humans behave like pigs - off point joke

I also heard that those who were turned into aps or pig, are no longer exist, b'coz the punishment was for that time and they might be died some centuries ago.
