What do you think as a Pakistani? You are not Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi and Patahn but Pakistani. You are not PTI, PMLN, PPP, but Pakistani…
What are the achievement in last 67 years ?
I think… We are back on democracy.

Re: As PAKISTANI
Great thread. :k:
I think we certainly have come long way from where we started. But not where we thought we would be in 68 years. But its never too late. We can still do it. Change the country’s fate and move it from third world to first. Ofcourse its not going to happen overnight. But we can start now and the best day is today. 14th August.
Lets start thinking as a pakistani from today without being any political, racial or religious biased. Nobody can stop us albeit ourselves.
Re: As PAKISTANI
I think… we don’t deserve independence. we are still divided on political lines. Okay… political division is good but that does not mean your fellow Pakistani with opposing political views is your enemy…

I think its personal piggy bank for few hundred families and the army. No accountability, no checks and balances. Pawns are sacrificed daily in name of democracy.

As Pakistani , We can be Saraiki ,Riasti ,Baluch ,Makrani, Pakhton ,Urdu speaking , Sindhi , Gilgiti , Kashmiri even Punjabi , We can support any party , We can be from any religion or sect . That doesn't make Pakistan weak .
It become weak when you don't give their basic rights and use name of Pakistan for looting
Re: As PAKISTANI
In any society where you selective enforcement of laws and so much injustice, that society can not pervail. I just saw videos of grown men throwing stones and showing shoes toward PTI crowd that was under protection of police. No one was arrested. If same thing would happen to govt convey, how many bullets would be fired? Imagine if that was clip of isrealies men throwing stones at palestenian women, everybody in pakistan would be out in street burning tires to protest. hypocrisy knows no bounds, this is pakistan.

Re: As PAKISTANI
^ ghalat. You are a citizen first then anything-else. All citizens of a country incl. Pakistan should have the same rights regardless of their religious beliefs
Religion is important but it should be something sacred and personal
Some people typically have this beemari of viewing everything through the prism of religion.
for instance during the Soccer World Cup, I read comments such as "I am supporting Germany because Ozil is a Turkish German" ... even though he may not give a damn about other muslims!!!
Support Germany if you like their style of play or you think they are a good team not because Ozil is a muslim. That is a very abnormal way of thinking. Seriously some of us need to end this thekedari of other people.

Define basic rights from jiyala POV. Jiyalas gave up their right to speak on basic rights long time ago.
Genocide of minorities doesn’t make Pakistan weak…exposing naked corruption of any side makes Pakistan weak hain na?
On 14 the august 23 march 6 September we are Pakistanis before and after we are Punjabi Sindhi balochi pashtun waghaira waghaira.
سب سے پہلے ہمیں اپنے بزرگوں کی پاکستان سے بددیانتی کا داغ دھونا ہے پاکستانی سے پہلے انسان بننا سیکھنا ہے.

bululk saheei farmaya aapy nay but the issue is that we will never ever be able to separate religion and state in pakistan..we will never ever be able to view things outside a religious prism..because if we start doing that, we will inadvertently deny the very fundamental basis of pakistan movement called two nation theory which was based on religious separatism...that we muslims cannot live with other religions and we need a separate land where we can practice islam... This two nation theory is so difficult to defend in today's global pluralistic society ....it is embarrassing to be honest...and frankly speaking pretty disturbing as well.
but as a humble student of indo-pak history, i also recognize that by 1940 peaceful co-existence for the two communities hindus and muslims had become impossible....few days ago senior old indian journalist kaldeep nayar also recognized this fact in his weekly column...congress's despicable behavior after winning 1937 elections was a clear indication of coming bad days for muslims......
that is why Jinnah, once a veteran Congress leader and a passionate champion of the Hindu-Muslim unity, had come to the conclusion that these two communities will always clash and being a shrewd politician he decided to use the two nation theory card to get Muslims rallied behind him and I am ok with it as a political tool...
...and I think in the end Pakistan was a great platform for Muslims but post-independence its leadership should have gradually distanced itself from toxic two nation theory and should have pushed harder for a secular framework instead...but what we got was qaradade maqasad instead (objective resolution) in 1949 under mullah pressure in which we refered to Quran and Islam as our constitutional guidance without realizing what exactly it means and what will be practical ramifications for adopting such philosophical ideology and after that chal so chal............la howla wala quwata illah billah
