ARY has some show coming on about Pakistanis in america..so they are asking people to send in their videos from graduations, weddings, other events.
if you see tha ad, they tell you to start “tapping” .. o bhai start taping..
and then they ask you to send your tapes and if they are selected, ARY will play them on air.
but ARY had a bad case of ebonics and theysay " if they be selected"
and even in the en, when they have their legal disclaimer..they are talking about “laibility” and not liability.
There are some other typos that I am forgetting right now. I can understand typos in the little news reel ticker, but for an ad? and then in the legal disclaimer.
dunno what yahoos they have working in the ads department.
Geo is worse actually. Not only do they make these kind of silly typos, they have little technical problems 24/7. Especially their news crawler is pretty messed up. They have to reset it or something every two minutes. And in thier news, there is so much background music and when they show thier little animations, you can see pixels on the screen and it lags too. Their whole system is probably running on a single pentium one or something.
well the fautty seven stems from the english way of not pronouncing R's, still prevails even in new england in US, especially in Boston.
The other thing I dont get is, how come the schedules are always messed up? Thinng end early and then they show music videos which is okay I suppose, but Geo sometimes has their own geo station call thing playing 4-5 times in a row..
Desis don't get it from new england. Its just that those poor pakis have a hard time trying to pronunce the "r", espcially when it is in the end of a word. And some poor pandoos think that saying something like that makes them look maadarn. Props for the effort though.

what makes you think that pakistanis cant pronounce r at the end of a word. people prounounce burger as burrrgerrrr , car as carrrr, or ruber and ruberrr
the rhotic accent group uses the R and the non-rhotic does not. many parts of the sub continent people speak rhotic because they have a propensity to pronoiunce the R in their native langauge. Desis who have gone thru education in catholic schools or the more exclusive schools learn to speak in a non-rhotic accent, and others around them simply copy them :)
I don’t think they do, but even if they really do and for them its hard to “pronunce” the r, why are they poor? some ppl think that
ppl who say “yo ma man” are cool, and ppl who cant pronounce “r” are poor
ppl who say “fittee daalee” are cool, and ppl who say “fauty” dollars are poor
and list can go on !
Just try to travel to NC, SC, TX (basically south) and see how local ppl EAT words while talking. No one call them poor, but its just pakis/desis who are poor.
