Re: ARY digital

:kaboom:ARY :rocket:

Khoosh

Re: ARY digital

Kyun, you have some lollywood movies that you'd like to advertise on the channel?

Re: ARY digital

Lollywood is Pakistani ... right ?
or Bollywood is Pakistani ?????

Re: ARY digital

Well if Lollywood doesn't get its act together, Bollywood is gonna stay Pakistani.

Re: ARY digital

I hope some day they will do good @ Lollywood
But i think most of the time they are not sure who’s fault is this. Every one blames each other.

Re: ARY digital

lollywood or no lollywood... its the bombardment of everything indian that bothers me. soon we will have pakistani kids coming upto us and saying namashkaar instead of salaam... and crap like "badia hei" whatever the hell that is. all thanks to ARY. india loving scum.

Re: ARY digital

even geo has started showing indian movies. Pak indian dosti efforts??

Re: ARY digital

What kind of logic is that  so if Pakistan cricket team starts loosing and Indian team starts wining we should just start covering their matches and wait till our team get their act togather ?

In anycase ARY isnt really a Pakistani channel, specially the one shown in the U.S. It’s more like a South Asian channcel that covers a lot more from Pakistan then it does from India, same way Zee shows mostly Indian stuff but they do show some Pakistani dramas. ARY is a middle eastern channel owned by Pakistanis. They do their broadcast from Dubai. The only new channel that bvroadcasts from within Pakistan is Business Week owned “Aaj TV”

Re: ARY digital

How is it "middle eastern"?

I thought their main station is operating out of London and that's where they started from?

They're all "Pakistani" channels, the only issue is that they're broadcasting from another country since in Pakistan they would have faced problems since the gov't was interfering in their operations. That was pre-Musharraf, though I think. The karachi stations don't have a problem at least. But I guess its easier to broadcast from outside.

Anyhoo, issue is not that. Pakistani film industry is almost non-existant at this point anyway. If it existed and had its foundations established strongly, then I don't think this would be a problem.

We just do not have enough movies being made on a regular basis for the Pakistani independent channels to promote them. There must be something to promote in order to promote it. Hence why when you see one movie coming out, like recently it was that Reema movie, these channels try their best to advertise it. But what can they do? Show you previews of the new reema movie in every commercial break, plus feature it in every magazine/talk show?

TV stations would never shy away from promoting the Pakistani film industry, if there were movies to be promoted. There, are however, almost none at this moment. Reema's movie was promoted, and it opened in theatres. That's it. There is no other movie out at the moment. Pehla Pehla Pyar is still awaiting release, and you can already see Mr. Lucman's comments on GS on why the movie is being upheld. I can't think of any other movie out there right now that is ready to release and needs promotion.

I've been following Lollywood's situation since 8 years ago or more actually. These past 2-3 years have been especially DRY in terms of releases. I would say this past year alone has been ridiculously empty of releases. Even the typical punjabi gujjar movies did not last a week or two at the box office. Cinemas are shutting down left and right, and converted into shopping malls or apartments. They're at an all time low, unfortunately.

I'm hoping that this vacuum will allow others to come in and produce movies. There are other threads in this forum on what other movies are currently under production, but I think they're all in the beginning stages, except Lucman's which is ready to go. Now yes, I think ARY and GEO need to give some coverage and news on these movies, so that we can have something to keep hope on. I actually emailed them on it, but of course, I got no response.

Re: ARY digital

I think showing the original indian dramas is still better than the cheap pakistani imitations. If that's what our public love then givem them the real thing atleast.

Re: ARY digital

they have been advertising Indian and Hollywood movies in a segment called “Ek jhalak” :halo:
You have to keep in mind that the channel is aired from Dubai and Dubai has all sorts of ppl living there.

Re: ARY digital

No, its not dubai pple they keep in mind when they make these shows. Most of their viewership is pure Pakistani, whether in Pakistan or abroad. Very few Indians actually watch these channels or have subscribed to them.

This is their way of getting some Indian viewership, for one.

Another point, is that most Pakistanis who can afford to have these channels watch Indian movies over Pakistani ones anyway. Therefore, its to keep them watching these channels, instead of switching to Indian ones, since a huge number of pakistanis have subscribed to indian channels.

Re: ARY digital

that will be the day when an indian gets a subscription to a pakistani channel and pays for it. if thats the reason then ARY's managment is really out of tune and prolly never met an indian before.

but, yes there are pakistanies who pay for indian channels... mostly for the extra skin our channels dont show. and i seriously doubt its cuz of the quality entertainment that is on indian channels.

Re: ARY digital

good point PCG. I know whenever they have a free preview of an Indian channel, my mum switches over the free preview channel rather than watch geo or ary.
