I just came back from my trip to Pakistan. I love those local private channels, specially, ARY digital and Indus Music. Does anyone if we are ever going to be able to see those channels in the USA via dish network?
Okay, so my mom was perusing thru the Urdu Akhbar that we sometimes pick up from the local grocery store, and lo and behold, there was an ad announcing the setup of a New York ARY studio. Before transmission starts, the studio has to be completely set up - which I can't even estimate how long that would take. But I do believe that ARY will get here sometime in the near future.
Now, Indus Music should have NO problem in getting here. But the Indus walay have been much slower in expanding, even though they set up their channel before ARY or Prime or Geo.
I would love to see Indus Music here, but it looks like their management is slightly sust.

Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to watch more than just prime tv in the USA.

Right now Indus has no plans of setting up in the US. I emailed Anoushey (the DJ on Indus) and like everyone else, she said its in their long term plans to start in the US. The biggest problem is the exuberant money that Dishnetwork charges, and Indus is in no position to pay that, however ARY digital can comfotably do that, so lets hope they start. The good thing is, they too have a music channel of their own now (quite similar to Indus Music) 'The Muziq', so lets keep our fingers crossed.
According to Indus Muic's website....
"....Fused with a global outlook, it is currently beamed to 64 countries as a candid and factual window to Pakistan.
Afghanistan, America, ....."
Does it mean that thay have plans to setup in the USA or they are currently in USA?

The satellite that they have an uplink too right now does not broadcast to the US.
I don't understand why its too expensive for them. Prime has enough money, and God knows how a great deal of its viewership is unsatisfied.
Indus gets viewership. And they have sponsors. And they have gotten to the UAE.
Ah well.
