Artwork Input

Alrightie. I did this piece last year, and now I’m looking to do a piece on Pakistan. However, I can’t decide what styles of clothing to include. Obviously I can include lehnga choli (with a longer choli) and shalwar kameez. I can variations of shalwar kameez styles throughout the country (though, I’d rather not).I need some input on what exactly to include. I’d like to see typical styles of village clothing, as opposed to the more contemporary city styles. I want to represent every major group/style in the country. Any ideas?

Re: Artwork Input

First of all, this is truly amazing!
What medium did you use on these?

For Pakistanis, yeah, do a variation on shalwar kameez, gharara (the divided one), sindhi fabric outfit...

Re: Artwork Input

oh pretty! except for the pavada you can include the other 3, ofcourse the choli would be longer :stuck_out_tongue: for regional dresses, there is the lacha kurta for punjab, the frock style dresses in the north and similar style ones in balochistan ( i don’t know the names :bummer: probably someone else can tell you them). there is also the gharara, ever popular.

here’s just a couple of pics i could find quickly.

Wow. that is one amazing work Matinee

Re: Artwork Input

Thanks so much ^.^I did this completely in photoshop using the polygonal lasso tool :)

Well I know I have to do Baluchi, Sindhi, Pathan and Punjabi styles, but I'm looking for more photos.I've got so many ideas running through my head I can't pinpoint one style!

Re: Artwork Input

OK. So did you lasso an existing photo or first draw out something and give it the edges & fills?

Re: Artwork Input

I referenced a lot of photo's for this work. Sometimes I just want to create without being creative haha

Re: Artwork Input

That in itself is a creativity, MS (if I may call you that). Sometimes the end product is more beautiful this way.
