Sub Topic: What to take seriously.

Greetings and salutations members of Gupshup;

I’ve come to ask this question because its been bothering me for a while. We take reality seriously because we’ve learned through out our inheritees the understanding of emotions, tone and language to understand the person’s message, that includes reading face impressions and body movements to assume the message. It is common and easy to understand what others are saying in real life, and we should take it seriously.

However; I partially think that AI should not be taken seriously. Espacially not in the game chats or on forums where you come to take your stress off and have fun and make friends.

These past few days I have realized something that is far unconciously common between the users of the internet (AI).

Since past two days I’ve seen that, people are starting to take matters that are in AI, seriously rather than having a second thought that its just the internet, and they are at the place to make friends (pointing at GS) and have fun. A related issue I’ve seen in a game where admin made me feel soo bad because he didnt understand joke, where everyone knew that I make odd jokes and all, he felt like talking to me in private and attempt to blow me off.

I agree at a certain point that Internet or any source via AI is used to communicate between the clients and employees of big enterprises, and such related matters should be taken seriously but when it comes to game chats or chats in general to a friend or anyone who just met you online 10 minutes ago unless you do not know him/her you do not take him/her seriously.

So, how do you communicate with emotions or how would you judge the message before understanding its emotion, its tone?

Or should you take it seriously regardless.

This thread is directed to everyone (that includes GS mods) who takes the internet seriously.

I can always go around use bigger words, be a Solid serious stone, making everyone feel bad saying that I am mature and better than anyone and I take everything seriously on the internet. Or I can have fun time here, in game chats and make fail yet funny puns everywhere and have fun. :@:

But would you know what my impression would be in what message? What tone am I using? Should you be taking my messages seriously on the internet?

General Note: Please do not close this, and I havent said anything bad or crossed the line over Rules of GS so I think this is a legit topic.

Or what would you do to prove them what emotion are you presenting to them via Internet. Without Icons or ASCII symbols

I think you have used Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the wrong context. AI is pretty much the machine’s ability to make a decision based on what artificial logic has been fed into it. People communicate via emails, and Instant Messaging (IM) which I think you have confused with IA.

You have tried to use big words here my friend. But I think one should be clear on the meaning of the terms he is throwing in to appear more knowledgable. Otherwise it backfires and you end up looking like an idiot.

Okay did that sound hostile/rude? See? Tone of one’s message is quite clear even if it is just text. :hehe:

AI have software that is computer contents such as IM, Email, etc so I said that.

and no I have not, As you can see half of that message have big words in it and second half does not…:chai:

ok so you are telling me that Idiot word should matter and must be taken seriously if it is said to you on the internet?

Actually it made me laugh and I didnt understand the tone of your message because you put the :hehe: icon right after that.
