Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

Ok, went to 'Zevar' yesterday and saw a few sets. I really loved one with pearls, though it was smallish. He quoted Rs. 35,000 for it with teeka. They even had Shafaq Habib and Damas designs. The diamond design replicas were Rs. 50,000.

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

^Wow. The prices are very steep for artificail sets. Are they really worth it?

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

Oh, naqsa, they are lovely and the workmanship and finishing is A-class! Rs. 35,000 is pretty standard for a good quality imitation set. 'Zevar' does have steep prices and they don't bargain much. The teeka and jhoomar alone cost Rs. 10,000.

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

is there anyone in KHI to whom if I give a picture of a set they will be able to replicate it? I want it done in artificial (i.e. chandi and red and champagne colour stones)

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

I have already recommended 'Zevar' at Gulf. There are others in the same area who can make copies of whatever design you give them esp. 'Gehna'.

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

I went to both Zevar and Gehna yesterday and loved some sets. But most of them were too big and I want a smaller traditional guluband type with jhumkay and teeka and jhoomar. But they said they can modify a set to my liking.
I liked Zevar better than Gehna. The guy at Gehna got pretty rude when he realized we weren't ordering right then. I was just doing a survey! Khair I've pretty much decided on Zevar. I'll get the kaam sample of my gharara this week iA and will order the jewellery in a couple of weeks!

There's a shop called Silver Trends at Bahadurabad, in a side street that has Bonanaza at the corner. The side street is next to the building that houses Needle Impressions and Threads and Motifs, if I remember correctly. I really liked some stuff they had and bought a small set for 11,000 and a pair of earrings for 2000. They said I could exchange it later at half the price.

Btw Gehna also said I could return their sets later at half price but Zevar said they don't do returns.

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

How much did he quote for the set, AA1985? Did you bargain?

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

At Silver Trend. you mean? I'm sorry, I meant I bought it for 9000. He quoted 11,000 :) It was a pendant set.

do they change color after wearing 2/3 times?

oh ok I didnt know that they could make copies :)

No, I meant what did the salesperson at 'Zevar' quoted? They are supposed to be pricey. BTW, I went there yesterday, too around 2:30 PM.

No, they don't, Kinzz. Just don't put spray on them directly. They can be easily polished, though.

Just ask him! He is so proud that his workers can copy any thing.

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

are the ppl at zevar better at copying or the ppl at gehna?

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

Mahismart, the guy at Zevar quoted 26000 for the set I liked but we didn't bargain because we weren't buying then and didn't have time anyway. I'll definitely bargain when I go there with the dress sample. The rest of the sets I saw were also in the range of 25000-30000. I don't like big huge sets. He said he has sets costing upto 1 lakh!

I went there around 6 pm :)

It is so good that he isn't into gold jewelery. I wonder what his quotes would be for gold if his artificial ones can cost upto 1 lakh!

BTW, has anyone gone to 'Kundan'? A recent Mona J. shoot had a model wearing a Bunto Kazmi outfit and artificial jewelery by Kundan.

Re: Artificial bridal jewellery

^ Where is Kundan located?

I'm trying to get as much info. as possible before I come to Khi :-)

These sets are tooo much costly...I jus want a bridal set in the range of 10k...Any place?? Tell me should i wear heavy sets or light ones on my big day??

Well these sets we're talking about are made of silver that has been polished gold. You won't get such a bridal set for 10k.
However, you must have seen loads of jewellery shops all over Karachi selling artificial jewellery. They have bridal sets as well. Someone I know got a big kundan looking set from some bazaar in Lahore for just 700 rs! It wasn't very good quality close up, but the bride looked absolutely beautiful in it and sparkled on her wedding day. She wore a pale golden dress and the jewellery matched her whole golden look amazingly well.

Re: Artificial Bridal Jewellery in Karachi

Ok, has anyone tried this store? Mona J's recent shoot has their jewelery.

Re: Artificial Bridal Jewellery in Karachi

^yeah I've been there many times, but only bought a set of 4 karas/bangles once. I think they were around 2000 but don't remember. They were quite heavy to hold. One of the stones came out once and we took it to the store where he fixed it right away free of cost. They give a guarantee card.
