Thank you Shay, but the first thread does not really provide any leads in terms of retail locations and the second thread (and the one you’ve merged mine with) is specifically about Lahore (and I need locations in Karachi) and then goes off on a tangent about real vs. fake sets.
I’ve read both of those threads before and neither of them provided the information I was looking for. I figured with a more specific thread I would get some actual answers. However, if you feel like this thread would be a better place for me to solicit answers, than I’m okay with that. I hope it actually works.

tariq centre on tariq road is loaded.. with good quality stuff... i bought most of my artificial jewellary and bangles from there...
hyderi is the 2nd spot i would visit...

Gulf shopping center would probably give you the best quality and best designs in terms of gold plated jewelry. however, they are a bit pricey. when you go to khi, u should check out Gulf and tariq rd and if u dont have time just go to gulf because i dont think u will find better designs anywhere else.

Thank you all for your suggestions, and thank you Shay for moving the thread.
My mother is KHI right now and is shopping for my gold. I have been encouraging her to get me some nice artificial sets for fun, and for occasions where heavy and expensive gold jewelry would be inappropriate or unsafe. (But ya’ll know how momma’s are when it comes to artificial jewelry. You would think they were building their stock portfolios when the lecture on investing in gold. 
Gotta love it though).
She has yet to find anything that she finds suitable. I will absolutely pass on these suggestions. I believe her and my cha chis go to Gulf every other day, as they are in Clifton.

SHC - Did you manage to get some jewellry then? I'm going to Karachi in Feb and need to do ALL my Shaadi Shopping in 2 weeks! Bit stressed about that so if you have good Jewellery and Clothes shops names in Karachi then that would save me alot of time!
Also how long does it usually take to make the jewellery etc?

My parents are actually in Dubai right now, they didn't have much luck finding any nice artificial stuff in Pakistan. All the real gold they bought me was ready made. I got several outfits made by local designers. My parents will be back within the week, after I appraise the outfits that were made for me I'll feel comfortable forwarding names and numbers! BTW, Mom did all my shopping in three weeks and she managed to take part in a cousin's wedding as well. So it can be done!

I love the artificial jewellery sets selling in Khi. They are so beautiful and no one can tell the difference from a distance. Why to spend 4-5 lakh on gold set? Lol. :)
Karachi is full of them esp' Forum shopping centre, Park Towers shopping centre and that basement-type bazaar near Index store.

tariq centre also has an unblvable range of beautiful sets and teekas and all buy them all the time from there even gulf shopping mall theres a silver shop sivanaa amazing stuff

ya I have seen on tariq center but its not that much attractive...actually i want to wear on my wedding...i have seen one shop at gulf also but i think its more on silver jewellery...I need some sort of golden with stones n other stuff
