yep mahismart thts the one. a few of the things look nice but some of it is kind of tacky because it has tht high shine finish.
i just looked on the art karat website for the first time. some of their stuff is gorgeous. its quite pricey though the really nice bridal style ones are over £1000 just for the necklace. u may as well buy real gold for that price.

yep the cheaper stuff is also very nice. i keep going back to the website lol. im in love with the set on the home page. i was jus surprised at the price of some of the necklaces esp since its artificial stuff. personally ive never read anything negative abt art karat stuff n they always advertise on tv n magazines here. im guessing with any artificial sets u wud probably have to have it polished or replated or something over time.

i read somewhere (Cant remember where) .... that someone bought jewelry from art-karat (for her wedding) ... and it turned out really bad ... the quality of it was like that of costume jewelry ... and looked plastic .. and she couldnt return becuz of some retarded return policy issue
i have no idea of how far it is true!

hmmm well if i were in ur shoes personally i wud just take the risk n buy it from art karat because they have quite a good reputation as far as im aware and always have exhibitions etc in the uk. id rather buy from them than have a design made in pakistan as u have no guarantee of quality there either. the only other solution is to visit a bridal store urself and buy something after seeing it with ur own eyes.

Farrah.............if you have time and can go to to Mumbai.......Zaveri baazar is d best place to buy gold, silver & artificial jewelery.......its worth a trip.....the finishing of the imitation jewellery is amazing & can get everything u want in good price :) the Artkarat store is also located in Mumbai

I think Art Karat is very over priced for the quality - it used to be much better before they got so big, I have a couple of their old silver pieces which are very nice, but I wouldn't buy anything from them now, particularly since they won't accept returns if you don't like the piece you order.
I have have a couple of very nice Swarvoski sets (from their official store) - one looks like pave diamond work, the other is rose cut crystals in a sort of modern kundan-like style. They are nice because they go with both westerns & a traditional suit. They weren't cheap (the kundan style was about $300 for the haar & earrings), but they are plated in a nice color 18 kt gold, & have a life time warranty, so if they tarnish or a crystal falls out Swarovski will repair it. I have the yellow gold look, but they also make white rhodium finish sets. The stores have a lot of heavy sets that might be suitable (I saw a beautiful heavy white set with crystals & pearls recently, it had matching earrings & bangles).
There is also an american brand call "Nadri". They are made with Swarowski crystals & 18 kt gold plated as well. I have some nice sets from them, both in white & yellow, a necklace, bangles & matching earrings. Its very difficult to tell at a distance its not real diamonds because the stones are so small & the gold color is very rich looking. They have some heavier choker style necklaces & some gorgeous heavy 2 inch wide bangles with crystal work. I like these because I get nervous carrying "real" sets with me when I travel, I don't think its safe, so these are a nice option.

thanks for this info saara … it’s really helpful … i have an artificial kundan set that i bought from anarkali, lahore .. and everybody thought it was real … and i LOVE that 
(the fact that it’s pretty, and that people get fooled) 
and i want similar quality stuff that passes of as real looking
that set that i bought from anarkali … a full choker kind of thing with big earings … it cost me only 800 rupees! would u blv that!
