The wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard:
Why can’t we all be like that bird?
Although not all of us can be like “that bird” but a few amongst us definitely are. As another saying goes that men who know little say much whereas men who know much say little. It’s within human nature, I suppose, to long for attention and affection, to be listened to, to be appreciated and what better way of achieving it than by verbally expressing one’s emotions. But many times we overdo it and end up talking unnecessarily whilst losing control over our feelings.
The listeners however tend to be popular as well maybe because a listener is a silent flatterer; they give us the time of the day, which others simply don’t have in their busy schedule, they make us feel special and understood. Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a sort of a creative force. When we are listened to, it creates us, makes us unfold and expand.
So what do u guys and gals think? How can a balance be achieved between listening and speaking? Should one be a passive listener or an active speaker during conversations. People who don’t say much are often categorized as the shy type.Is it a correct notion?Do share ur precious thoughts on this cause I’m all ears
