I've got my own place actually but i tend to stay over at my mum's quite a bit...especially when she's got gatherings and stuff..
Relatives comin for dawat are only 8mins away, so that's cool..
Spending-wise, thanks for d advise...but i think i usually cant help over-spending in d early days of the month, but it calms down afetr the 3rd or 4th day, thank god for that - anyhow i do keep all receipts and keep a written account / spreadsheet of all my income/outgoings, so that helps...
