Arsenic found in Apple Juice and Grape Juice

***Nutritionists urge parents to limit the amount of juice their children consume,

not only because of contamination concerns,

but because of the high calories contained in the drinks.

Parents should offer their children water or milk to drink, and whole fruits as snacks.***

***Ten percent of the 88 juice samples tested by Consumer Reports were found to have detectable arsenic

at levels higher than the 10 parts per billion (ppb) allowed by the Food & Drug Administration.

Welch’s Pourable Concentrate 100% Apple Juice had the lowest arsenic level (1.1-4.3 total arsenic ppb),

and America’s Choice Apple, Tropicana 100% Apple, and Red Jacket Orchards 100% Apple also had low levels.***

Its horrible. There was a time I used to bring these juices a lot but then considering their sugar outpour (even when they say no sugar added), I started taking a caution. Its just a step or two away from soda which actually creates a sugar crush in your body.

I wish if we can only and only make juices at home. I cant suggest since im lazy enough not do it myself :bummer:

Well, even majority of the milk (which the article recommends) has become a toxic substance. It's loaded with things that it shouldn't contain. If you can't get a hold of raw milk, then grass milk (a bit pricier) would perhaps be the next best option.

I love apple juice; I get cravings for it. We have a Lucky's Market not too far away which serves very, very fresh, raw, unpasteurized juices and the taste is far superior to the stuff which has a longer shelf-life. It's still high in sugar but it's better quality.

I used to love apple juice but orange juice is my favorite now. I used to avoid bottled juices until last year. I noticed I would gravitate towards the 'no sugar added' ones every time I went shopping so I stopped myself. I don't buy it now.
