This is outrageous! Rotten to the core, honestly.
I could’ve lumped this news with any other currently trending threads on Arsalan Iftikhar, but truth to be told, this absolutely disgusting statement deserves a thread on its own. I cannot believe that the Chief Minister representing a province with extreme sense of deprivation, injustice and inequality thinks he’s being clever by saying he offered a highly lucrative and significant position in the field directly dealing with province’s rich mineral resources to a person with shady record, simply to ‘recognise services of his father’? What services? You mean the services of his father to Sharif family in May 2013? As if people don’t already know about. But still, how pathetic of him to blatantly normalise cronyism in such a casual manner. What a sweet little message of hope and trust to the youth of Pakistan, especially Balochistan.
I realise that venal corruption and nepotism in the country has become such a barefaced and brazen form of abuse that many people perhaps don’t even see it as a serious crime anymore. In fact, I’m sure that some where in this world, a man goes by the name of Najem Sethi has probably already tweeted to describe such criminality and immoral behaviour as completely ‘normal’, and how long before followers of the same cult call such mentality exercised by the CM and the Government a sign of true democracy and progress?
