Arrest warrant for Pakistan star

**An arrest warrant has been issued for a popular Pakistani actress accused of theft and intimidation, police officials in the city of Lahore say.**The charges were made by a businessman who says he is her husband and alleges she threatened to have him killed.

Meera denies she was ever married to Atiqur Rahman but police say they have evidence that they were wed in 2007.

She has acted in Bollywood films. In 2005, she received death threats for a kissing scene in one of them.

Mr Rahman alleges that Meera has stolen some of his belongings. He told the media that he owns the house in which Meera is living.

He says that when he returned from a recent business trip he found that a number of valuable items in his house had been taken.

“The matter led to an altercation during which she threatened that she could get me killed,” he told media.

Police say the house Meera lives in is in her name, although it could have originally been bought by Mr Rahman.

Meera has not yet made any public comment about the warrant.

But her mother has filed a complaint with police accusing Mr Rahman of sending hooligans to ransack the house.

It is possible to get bail in Pakistan once an arrest warrant is issued, but before the suspect is taken into custody.
