Talibans are confused people. I dont want to discuss them but all Clerics and Mr.'s (as you dont like them to be called Maulana's... I dont know why) are not Pro-taliban. Some of the poltical leaders of religious parties seem that way but these guys are politicians first and clerics later (unfortunately).
And who did not lie. Interior minister, president, PM. Can you amek a claim about one individual who did not lie..
I just want to calrify one thing. People from Wafaqul Madaris are real qualified Ulema. Its not a political party or anti-govt agency. They will give Fatwa (as most of them are qualified Mufti's) only if they were asked. They dont issue political statement.
By the way it is sad that your views are so rigid against Muslim Clerics that you cant even stand any of them. Muft Taqi and Rafi Usmani are some of the people our nation should be proud of (off course after we are done with our pride for Imran Khan and Junoon and any other Fashion model, yes that was sarcasm).
Us not calling them Mufti and Maulana is not going to change their stature, it will lower ours.

I know what you're talking about antiobl. These *******s are constantly lying through their teeth and the sad part is that I don't even think they consider it a lie. Such is the state of their denial that something as elementary as truth and lies becomes a farce to them. They always find some sort of Islamic justification for the most heinous of acts and don't feel bad about it. Exhibit A, Ghazi 1 trying to justify him running away from the mosque in a Burqa by saying stuff like "It is ok in Islam to withdraw from the battlefield". If he felt no embarrassment while spewing such crap, he honestly deserves to be hanged.
Also, I was watching GEO and they were interviewing some ninjas that the police had captured. The reporter asked "Were you guys scared?" to which one of the ninja replied "No, we wanted to be shaheeds and we had no fear. Infact the mortar shells from the government felt like pellets to us and we were in such a state of peace that we were sleeping easy while the government was trying to kill us". Honestly, if it was me, I would have been like "Ok, your wish is my command. Please line up so I don't have to waste my bullets" and see how they reacted.

About that Dawn article linked, its not that those Mulla's lying, its that YOU THINK that they are lying. Did that article say somewhere that they are lying. They even said “We differed with the modus ope*** adopted by the Ghazi brothers but we were in agreement with their cause for reconstruction of demolished mosques** and Islamisation of the society". Isn't that blaming them?
Regardless if these mosques were made on illegal properties, you may not call it a lie but that is not allowed either in the eyes of law or in Islam.

King-faisal Jahan Panah! Mullahs had to be involved as a last resort. They however were not trusted to use their "private" links with jahannam-raseed Mullu-rasheed. These Mullahs were asked to use megaphones or the telephone set up by the army. This was the only way to stop these bearded hazrat from introducing yet another terroristic game.
However the media lackeys continued broadcasting lies about 1000's of women hostages and mass graves of the women. This was just a Mullahtic lie.
We as a nation wrongly trusted these liar Mullahs and believed in those lies thus ended up losing so many brave soldiers who went in looking for these bhootnies (ghost women).

I was also not defending Ghazi brothers so bringing thier illegal mosque in discussion is going to confuse the issue. and BTW dont you think that illegal mosque is much better than illegal palaces and mansions built by all our belloved leaders

The problem is that these Ulema have been blaming Mush for the bloodshed and were advocating clemency of Ghazi and his accomplices. They also appear to be more interested in the control of Madarsas and not saving lives. In fact some of them were egging Ghazi on. A strong rebuke from these Ulema may have changed Ghazi's mind. They kept on asking to go inside the madarsa to negotiate while constatly Ghazi was talking with them on the phone. How can they lay ALL of the blame on government? People here are hitting them with the same stick because they have not distinguished themselves from the Taliban.

I think that Abdul Aziz Ghazi was against the blood shed and that is why they let him escape (yes we can all laugh about Burqa part, later on). Abdul Rashid Ghazi was more of a fanatic mind. In reality, he was not a qualified Alim (as we all know) and sad part is that it’s not proper Alim but worldly educated people who take a sudden turn towards religion who become fanatic. We all heard of Doctors from Arab world being master mind behind some recent terrorism schemes. Laden himself was in construction business.
In nut shell, all these groomed and real Ulema are and were against Ghazi brothers, always. Yes they are against Musharraf government also but that does not mean that they support Ghazi's actions. They only support his reasons (having an Islamic system in Pakistan, which every Aalim always asked for), not his action.
I wrote somewhere that Wifaq-ul-Madaris officials were so angry with Ghazi’s that they revoked their registration. Maulana Salimullah Khan (President/Chief of Wafaq-ul-Madaris) wrote an article (published in Jang) right after Aunty Shamim incident, condemning Ghazi brothers.
Again, I am not trying to convince anyone, but I always felt that its not qualified Alim but half baked, self nominated, worldly graduated lunatics who are giving Islam a bad name.
In fact I guarantee you that you look at past terrorist acts and you will hardly find a proper Alim behind any of those.

That is probably true, but its some two bit thig masquerading as an aalim, and the aalims pander to him rather than discredit him and negate him in no uncertain terms. so when you see real muftis hang with self titled 'maulanas' .. its hard to figure out whether they agree with each other or not.
