Scotland Yard cannot hold anyone for more than 24 hours without a conviction. Mazhar Majeed most likely did not admit his guilt and wanted a lawyer and was therefore released. It doesn't mean he's off the hook

That's true but even when there is concrete - video camera or other (footprint etc.) - evidence for a crime, the accused/defendant can still demand access to a lawyer

As i said in the other thread, the case might not fall in their jurisdiction, since no bookie offers rates on no-balls, he did not defraud anyone. (Just my thought)

Pakistan under pressure to suspend Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir

The Pakistan Cricket Board is under pressure to suspend three senior players allegedly involved in a match-fixing scam to ensure the one-day series against England can go ahead as planned.

Officials from the International Cricket Council will hold talks with the PCB in London on Monday morning with the immediate futures of Salman Butt, the Pakistan captain, and fast bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir to be decided.

Sources close to the England squad have indicated they will not be happy to play against players who are the subject of match-fixing allegations and it appears highly unlikely that Butt, Amir and Asif will feature in the five-match one-day series or two Twenty20 internationals.

PCB should send them home immediately, including two Akmals, Wahab Riaz and Umar Amin and give them legal notice as to what was the nature of their relation with Mazhar Majid.

I personally do not think so that PCB can send them back home as the case is under investigation with Scotland Yard. They cannot leave the country.

that is all we can do..blame indians for all of our problems…never solve the problem…ljust blame indians…look at the water issue..we never did anything to imporve the situation internally rather shifted the whole focus on india…

can someone please clarify wth was the management officials like yawar and waqar doing when all of this was taking place? I thought players are under strict surveillence when they are on tour and their activities are monitored....I have a feeling that the management is in it...it's not just the players.

When everyone was going crazy praising Aamer and Asif on what a great combo they are and can make Pak the best bowling attack of the world.. I kept repeating that although I love Aamer I have no respect for Asif.. because his character was fked and it had been proven before.. I had no reason to believe it changed.. he is still a good bowler but has absolutely no morality..

If all this fiasco is exposed to the fullest extent, mark my freakin' words, chooha Malik would be in the biggest trouble of them all. All his bakwas and oaths against the only shareef guy in the team (yeah, Younis Khan); karma is there to take care of all of that.
