No one “imposed” anything on them. Smuggling and weapons bazars, kidnapping and ransom was part of the “golden traditions” of tribal area looooooog before Commie attack on Afghanis.
So let’s not use that excuse.
We the Pakistanis slept while tribals became worse and worse in their bad habits. Had they been civilized, Qaida would not have been fully entrenched in that area.
It is time to cleanup the mess and change the Jaangli tribal culture so that people living in FATA would no longer be vulnerable and inclined towards large scale terrorism.
BTW the same thing is true with other semi-tribal areas of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.
