Strong one…your answer makes more sense. BUT i did more research and its seems like majority islamic scholars believe Walima is a meal that is prepared after the marriage has been consummated. This was the practice of the our prophet. The Fiqh Of Walima
I am not suggesting for the OP to not have her short wedding. But just Islamically they should have a separate dinner later on.
