Who decides which party is legitimate political party or not? What’s the definition of it? By your logic, parties like MQM, PPP and ANP must also be banned as they are responsible for carrying out massive scale urban terrorism in Karachi? While we’re at it, we must also ban PTI because according to Mualana Fazlu it’s not a legitimate political party but a Jewish lobby operating in an ‘Islamic country’. You see how silly and nonsensical the whole politics of ban this and that sounds? It’s sheer desperation and and helplessness and nothing else. If we all ban political parties over difference of opinion or whatever then what are we left with? Fascism?
You need to grow some tolerance for democracy and educate yourself how it really works. Munawar Hussain made an inflammatory remark which he later stated as his personal opinion. Nonetheless it still caused a much needed national debate in the country (which is always a good thing), it enraged people, army and the media. The court takes a notice and JI in return suffers a huge, absolutely political blow and a massive dent in their image and relations with the armed forces. Where is the all doom and gloom that some people are desperately trying to paint? If anything people need to root for a more responsive and vigilant system where such inflammatory remarks are met with quick individual suspension from public office.
