It’s a tragedy, two ambassadors and the wives of two others are killed.
Re: Army helicopter crashes in Gilgit: Norway, Philippines ambassadors killed

According to @NaxarUlIslam , ttp](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=TTP) claimed they shot down the chopper in which ambassadors were killed, saying the target was PM Nawaz Sharif
Re: Army helicopter crashes in Gilgit: Norway, Philippines ambassadors killed
They are probably just calming credit for it. This area is way too far out for TTP hold.
Pakistan helicopter carrying foreign diplomats crashes - Al Jazeera English
Islamabad, Pakistan - A Pakistani military helicopter carrying foreign diplomats in the mountainous region of Gilgit-Baltistan has crashed, killing six people, the military says.
The dead included two ambassadors, two wives of ambassadors and the helicopter’s two Pakistani pilots.
The dead include Norwegian Ambassador Leif Larsen, Philippines Ambassador Domingo Lucenario Jr, and the wives of the Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors to Pakistan.
Dutch ambassador Marcel de Vink and Polish ambassador Andrzej Ananicz were injured in the crash.
The MI-17 helicopter was carrying 17 people, including 11 foreigners, the military’s spokesperson Major-General Asim Bajwa said in an earlier statement.
The 13 survivors had “varying degrees of injuries”. The injured are being treated at the Combined Military Hospital at Jutial, about 30km away from the area in which the crash occurred.
The aircraft crashed in the Naltar Valley area of Gilgit-Baltistan, about 300km north of the capital Islamabad.
Gilgit-Baltistan is located in Pakistan’s extreme north, and is at the junction of three major mountain ranges: the Himalayas, the Karakorum and the Hindu Kush. It is home to more than 100 peaks higher than 7,000 metres. It is also part of the disputed region of Kashmir.
A witness to the crash told Al Jazeera that it appeared that aircraft had suffered a technical issue.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was due to visit Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday, which the diplomats were visiting as part of a four-day tour.
Sharif was en route to Gilgit when the crash occurred, and has now cancelled his visit, state media reported.
He expressed “deep grief and sorrow” over the crash, according to Radio Pakistan.
The helicopter that crashed was part of a group of three, all of which were carrying foreign diplomats on their tour of the area.
Re: Army helicopter crashes in Gilgit: Norway, Philippines ambassadors killed
There have been some attacks in the past too, the attack on the hikers in nanga parbat being one.
Re: Army helicopter crashes in Gilgit: Norway, Philippines ambassadors killed
We cannot just disregard TTP’s acceptance due to two reasons:
during the the past month about 4-5 groups of Taliban have merged to make one powerful group. Secondly the China Pakistan economic corridor would start from GB. Some powers who are not happy with the development would want to make a point.
Re: Army helicopter crashes in Gilgit: Norway, Philippines ambassadors killed
oh god…if TTP part is true, this will be such a huge embarrassment.
very sad event.
I am in Kuala lampur today and locals in my office were talking about the incidence. they are the one who told me about it.
Re: Army helicopter crashes in Gilgit: Norway, Philippines ambassadors killed
Thanks for spreading their propaganda here. Now that you have, i have to add my 2 cents:
There are some contradictions in this statement.
-
The so-called task force was formed to take out Nawaz Sharif but they didnt know which helicopter he was in, so they just picked one heli (out the three) and prayed that Nawaz would be in it. They other two landed safely. Poor basturds had only one SAM misssle.
-
The claim to use SAM missile. If you ask any military expert, he would tell you that SAM missiles cannot be produced indigenously by your local militia. The best alternative is a rocket.
-
They are saying that they will soon release video of this SAM missile training and production. Why not release the video of this high profile attack, considering they had a task force assigned for this plan. No video cameras available to them. Heck in this smartfone era there has got to be a video they can release.
-
Beside, the news of “missile” was thrown out by the Indian media first.
This is nothing but psyops by TTP and their handlers. Our media and sane voices need to stay vigilant.
Re: Army helicopter crashes in Gilgit: Norway, Philippines ambassadors killed
one eyewitness didnt see any “missile” or rocket

Re: Army helicopter crashes in Gilgit: Norway, Philippines ambassadors killed
there are survivors in the incidence…i doubt anyone would have survived a missile or rocket attack
these TTP animals are lying.
