VERY GOOD. I have been advocating for this for long and not just out of emotions of Peshawar incident…finally its happening.
There is not reason to keep People like* Dr Aqeel (AKA Dr Usman)* who were caught red handed, after fight in Army HQ (and other incidents of terrorism) waiting on death row and spend more of TAX money on them. Hang them …**hang them publicly PLEASE. **
ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has signed the death warrant of six hardcore terrorists, pending execution, by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM), DawnNews reported.
The six terrorists were convicted by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM) in accordance with the law. Sources said that the men are expected to be executed within the next 48 hours.
DG ISPR Asim Bajwa announced the decision on Twitter.
The announcement comes one day, after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had approved the removal of moratorium on the death penalty after Tuesday’s terrorist attack in Peshawar.
Meanwhile Govt is also moving ahead and has singled out 17 terrorists who were on death row and their final appeals are rejected by president.

I've seen with interest the saner voices of GS turning into rabid hardliners after the Peshawar incident.
Spare us public executions. The society is de-sensitized enough as it is. Although I agree that the terrorists need to be hanged, I would caution against abandoning some semblance of due process which I understand did take place in this case. Many members have been advocating shooting on sight, carpet bombing etc. I understand the sentiment to some degree during live operations as far as shooting fighters is concerned. But do you really want the state to have that kind of power. Rights are always taken away by pointing to individuals that most people don't mind not having rights. However, once the principal is established, it is pretty hard to reverse the policy. Mere suspicion should never be enough to take a life.

A much needed step! But this alone won't solve the problem.
Hundreds if not thousands of hardcore terrorists and religious bigots are roaming freely. Killing a handful of locked terrorists when hundreds more are being produced daily by hardcore madrassas is not going to solve anything. Government and Army need to wake up and take concrete measures to fix the problem of religious extremism and bigotry once and for all. Hate speeches should be banned

"We should demand total deweaponization in Pakistan starting from Punjab, to Sind, KPK and Baluchistan. First all the politicians must give up weapons of any kind. Then respective authorities in the provinces must confiscate all weapons from Madrasses and from civilians. It will help single out the militants."

I hope that media behaves responsibly over this news, and doesn't dish out any sensitive and unnecessary details about executions in order to gain the opportunity to run yet another self advertising campaign saying how they are 'first' media house to break xyz' story.
Their one little stupid mistake can put a lot of people lives in danger, so they need to be very careful exactly what they report and how much they report in regards to these executions. Imagine if they start revealing the name of officials involved just to make them get the due recognition and praise or whatever, but such information can put their and their family's lives in great danger.

From a Twitter account purported to be of Pakistan Army chief, Gen Raheel Sharif tweeted on Wednesday, "Asked PM Nawaz Sharif to hang all terrorists. More than 3,000 terrorists should be hanged in next 48 hours." A day later, Lashkar-e-Taiba's commander Zaki-ur Rahman Lakhvi was out on bail.

Yep, COAS doesnt have a twitter account or an FB account. All statements come from the official ISPR account. So unlike the civilian govt where you have 4 clowns saying four different things the same day, the military is on one page with regards to all issues.
