ArMughal is too lenient...

Although I think Mughal is doing a splendid job in Rel forum, I believe he is a bit too lenient…

Some posters come in, ridicule my faith (Islam) and leave some derogatory remarks about the Lord I worship and Mughal lets it slide without even as a warning to anyone…

Let me remind you (The admins) that this is a Pakistani forum of which 98.753 % of posters are Muslims…Please don’t let the sensitivities of the overwhelming majority of posters come under deviancy of a few that mock my faith…

May I also remind Mughal that leniency and fairness of all posters aside, he should keep in mind that he himself alongwith a huge percentage of posters are Muslims…

I agree that Rel is not an easy forum to regulate and moderate, however his lenient approach in dealing with anti-Islamic rhetoric desires a little more effort…

I, for one believe, that ArMughal and Sadiyah are indeed a fine choice for regulating the Rel forum, but as a Muslim, I believe he needs to adopt a more stern approach to moderating the Rel forum…

Still, I applaud Mughal for doing an even and fairhanded approach in moderating that forum and applaud the admin for choosing him…

But I still believe he needs to be a bit more strict in dealing with those who mock Islam or any other religion for that matter…

Re: ArMughal is too lenient...

ok forget it.... :p

Re: ArMughal is too lenient...

So much for freedom of speech. Nobody insults any religion intentionally as far as I have observed. For the sake of discussion, you have to bring up arguments. What's important is that people are not sweared at or ridiculed by the moderator. A moderator should be able to handle a "violent crowd" and tell them to stay on the right track during a discussion. It would be very wise of Armughal to actually take note of that suggestion and acting upon it instead of childishly closing threads and banning members to boost his ego. Really.

Re: ArMughal is too lenient…

A couple things about your statistics, Lajo. First of all the posters here that follow your and armughal’s interpertation of Islam is probably less than 30%. Secondly, the population of the United States, where you live and gupshup is based, is 98% non-Muslim. But that doesn’t stop you from mocking everthing that country stands for. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. You demand respect while refusing to reciprocate.

As far as people mocking your faith, it is one thing for a poster to try and get away with it, but yet you have no problem when a moderator does it to other faiths? Just because he follows your version of Islam?

But your declaration of “even and fairhanded approach in moderating” makes those biases and hypocrisy pale in comparison.

Re: ArMughal is too lenient...

The Game: *The threads are locked and banned for a reason. Think of Mughal as a cop. A cop has a right to give you a ticket, a verbal warning, a written warning or just letting you go. Do you whine when you get a ticket? I don't think so.

If a thread merits closing, deleting and editing, then it's his job to do it. You may not approve of it, but ther are many things you don't approve of. Do they all go your way? I doubt it. And stop writing in Italics. Really, that is all.

*Seminole: For you, anyone who expresses his views is mocking your country. Yours is a different case.

Re: ArMughal is too lenient…

But he certainly does not do what you have stated! He gets heated up in arguments and starts abusing people, which is what a moderator should never be doing. A moderator has to be impartial; he shouldn’t be closing threads or banning members just because someone offended him personally. What myself and a whole lot of other people (as seen in the other thread) are complaining about is that he takes comments in that forum too personally and threatens people if they don’t agree with him. Your comment about these forums being 98% Muslim show how narrow minded you are yourself, so I don’t think I should be addressing you anymore. As far as I recall, I have seen you ridicule other faiths a number of times. Does that mean you should be banned as well? Why do the rules apply only to non-Muslims or people who wish to discuss and put forth a few arguments? Think About It.

Re: ArMughal is too lenient…

Sadiyah’s the best rel mod

Re: ArMughal is too lenient...

Lajawab, your analogy of a cop is a great one.

A cop implements the law, not his interpretation of the law.

A cop polices equally to all people.

A cop is held to higher standards than those he is policing.

If a cop is insulted, he does not insult back.

If a cop comes across two people in a debate, he should moderate the debate, not take sides based on personal biases. If he wants to debate and give his non-official opinion then he ought to turn in his badge.

If he is unable to police without feeling compelled to tell people they are going to jail (hell) based on his own views, and not necessarily the law, he is not a fair or evenhanded cop.

Re: ArMughal is too lenient…

Why don’t you quote where Mughal has become personal or I have ridiculed other people’s faith?

You don’t have to address me, but it would add credibility to your claims.

Seminole:

Armughal does implement laws of GS.

He is equal to people as I have myself been reprimanded by him and we share the same beliefs.

You are taking this cop thing seriously, this is a discussion forum.

Apart from being a mod he is also a member with his own, personal opinions.

Re: ArMughal is too lenient…

If he feels the need to express his views without any inhibition and ridicule other people, he should give up his position as moderator and post as a regular member. I wouldn’t object to any of his statements (no matter how ridiculous they are!) if that is the case. I have complained because he is a moderator of the forum, and should think twice before posting comments that would make other posters feel that they are being treated unfairly. As I said, it’s not just myself who feels that way. You can check the other thread if you like.
