Armughal as moderator/ Screening process for choosing a moderator (Merged)

Re: Armughal as moderator/ Screening process for choosing a moderator (Merged)

a moderator is like the leader of an organization, like the team head.
you can NEVER EVER judge the leader on the same yardstick as everybody else because the leader holds more powers and the reason that person holds those powers is because they can be held accountable for their conduct by much more stricter parameters. so lets not start saying that "he" is like just any other guy blah blah blah...no sir...he's a moderator.
let me give you a good example:
would you even in your dreams wanna have the old Shoaib"i am ferrari" Akhtar as the team captain??
hell no! because a captain is a higher figure in a team and thus the captain can't get away with stuff that a normal team-member might do with a simple warning.

what kinda took me aback was when armughal bhai jaan started calling some other guppies "morons" and using pretty sharp wordings which were kinda offensive by widespread opinion. a moderator CANNOT do that boss. the word moderator should explain the entire deal:
a Moderator is supposed to **moderate **discussions and not go about further extremetsing them. a MOD is out there to keep checks and balances and make sure that people dont misbehave and use uneccesarily sharp language which might offend. a moderator is out there to intervene if people start propogating opinions that are unneccesarily EXTREME or INTOLERANT.
i'm sure you all have sat in examination halls in school and university. a moderator is like the supervisor who sits on the platform chair or takes rounds to make sure that order is retained in the class. thats what a moderator i supposed to do. no excuses whatsoever on this.
go to any popular forum on the net and invariably you'll find that the most sensible and BALANCED posts come from the moderator and no where will you find the mod going about taking an extreme stand and belittling the other posters.

i got nothing personal against armughal bhai jaan, but dude some of the stuff did warrant the above, in all fairness.

BTW, hey sara, long time no see :)

those of u who think i insulted sistani, then i assure u it was just a typing error....

when i wrote sistani shistani (which means by urdu grammar rules sistani waghaira) i accidentally missed an S in it, which resulted in what u saw with four asterisks....
it was an honest typing mistake, nothing more....

those of u who think, sistani shistani is wrong or insulting, then believe me, i dont consider it insulting if someone says ajaz shejaz, or moderator shoderator, or any such thing....
i dont think i can do much in that case....

those of who r insulted by me calling people moron, plz go back and see those ppl replying to me calling me a moron, idiot, stupid, having low level on intellect, and many more....
moreover, my use of the word "moron" was a general one and not specifically directed on any named guppie....

also, being a moderator means i moderate discussions and not my own views on the topics discussed....
dont expect me to be taking neutral grounds on matters of faith (just like u wud not be expecting a sports forum moderator to not be supporting a certain team of which he/she is a fan).....
