In my city (Rawalpindi), carjacking and robbing is becoming a routine. Criminals shoot people who show slight resistance or sometimes without any reason. I’ve never felt this unsafe in my whole life. I’m planning to purchase a small weapon for self-defence but it is impossible to get an arms license in our country if you are not influential so may be I’ll have to get an unlicensed weapon.
Do you guys support my notion?
I’ve no experience with such stuff and don’t know if it is possible to purchase a small weapon from arms dealer shops without having a license. I’m a bit reluctant (should I say afraid) to approach such shop without license. Any helpful information will be much appreciated.
Welcome to the forum!
You've brought up an interesting subject.
Your concern is shared by many all over Pakistan, and youre right that acquiring a license isn't easy. And on the other hand influentials always manage to get arms and licenses easily. Even when their arms are unlicensed they get away.
But, I think anyone planning to own a weapon should definitely get it licensed first. The procedure as far as I'm aware of is to apply for a license in whichever category required (hunting, self defence etc) and file an application with the local dist govt. After it's granted you can go to a licensed arms dealer and purchase any gun in the power range that is authorized on your license. This is the proper way, but its not easy, but it's highly recommended to keep safe from any legal glitches, harm, or any traps anyone could lay for you due to your weapon being unlicensed, or even if it used by you God forbid at any time of need for self protection.
Other ways to try getting a gun is to just walk to a dealer and I'm sure theyd be happy to sell it to you even without a license most of the time, atleast if you insist. Some may put a strict facade and would melt if theyre sure youre a serious buyer, and only a handful would be strict going by the rules kind. Perhaps most would also give you a few tips or assistance on the licensing procedure. You can try asking a dealer if he'd e willing to support your license petition as most of them have insiders working with granting authorities, they may charge some extra money fr facilitating this service. But it's better than getting it fully illegal. Or you can look for any influential person or official that you may know of and ask them to nominate your application or help out and the process could e done easily. Avoid an illegal weapon. One may be tempted esp given the variety and low prices in areas near Darra, but no license could be trouble. So better wait and struggle than be anxious or sorry later.
Hope my little opinion on it is useful.

dude go to the baaRa market in khaybar. talk to the guys down there who sell guns and stuff and if you pay them enough they'll even deliver a rocket launcher to your house. the khans know their stuff. or you can get one from there and then travel on your own. thats how most of the ppl around my place get guns.
