Re: Armour of Baloch Hero Chakar e Azam
Not exactly. According to contempory sources, largest representation in the standing army of nadir shah was of Afghans of abdali tribe, about 50 thousands. Among them 16 thousands were elite corps “the immortals” of which ahmad shah abdali was part of. Balochs had rather small representation, only 6 thousands. Mir baloch is saying that balochs “helped” nadir shah against ghilzai rulers of persia. He is forgetting that his balochs along with Afghans, bakhtiari, lur, uzbek, qizalbash and turkmen were paid soldiers of their king. Balochs were ruled by nadir shah, so were afghans and others. Now interesting fact is, nadir shah actually favoured recruitment of his ghilzai opponents. Even Ghilzais had infact larger representation than balochs. One of the top and senior general shah was a ghilzai, azad khan. Other generals were hussien khan qajar, karim khan zund, ali mardan khan etc who were native persians.
