Someone wise must have said that “actions speak louder than words.” Time and time again the terrorists have proved that what they say is not what they mean. Have we not seen before, that if one group declares a ceasefire, the other will immediately respond with a vicious attack? This attack on the Islamabad district court has all the hallmarks of the Taliban attack. We stand by the people of Pakistan and with the families of all who lost their lives in this vicious and senseless attack. We know firsthand how it is to lose loved ones to terrorism. These are the times we need to stay united against these ruthless terrorists and send a clear signal that they need to mend their evil ways. Plain and simple!

Swat fell to Fazlullah in 2007. This was the period when Musharraf had handed over KPK to MMA (to pressurise the world to support him otherwise fanatics will come to power).
It was this militant faction that spearheaded the Taliban uprising under Fazlullah in northern Pakistan. They were effectively in control of the scenic Swat valley from 2007 and in early 2009 they gained de facto control of the entire Malakand division until an army offensive ejected them in the summer.
**MIRAMSHAH: Hafiz Gul Bahadur, a Taliban leader based in North Waziristan Agency, has distanced himself from peace talks between the government and the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
****His spokesman Ahmadullah Ahmadi said in a statement here on Sunday that the peace agreement signed in 2006 by the government **and local Taliban was still intact, although its certain clauses had been violated. The deal was renewed in 2008.

I am also saying that talk with Taliban before 2008 was about not using Pakistani soil to fight in Afghanistan.
As for Swat, Fazlullah was creating fitna there in 2006, but government acted against Taliban and swat became peaceful. It was after election 2008, when terrorists returned and started fitna again and PPP government negotiated with them, giving Swat to Taliban.

Like PPP was all over the place when terrorist attacks were taking place during their tenure. I remember zardari running out of the country in all crisis situations. I also remember raisani offering Hazaras a truck load of tissues after their misfortunes. The party ruled the country for five years and could not come up with counter terrorism policy now has the gall to condemn others.

Asad Umar is a responsible lawmaker. He should have been there. I am not sure about the authenticity of this news. Being an elected representative of the area, he should have paid a visit to the session court and the hospital. I would be highly surprised if it is confirmed that he did not visit any of the places.
