some of the dahshatgard were supposed to be presented in the court today when these gunmen came to rescue them. so far no news about any casualty and/or escape of any prisoners.

Taliban already claimed that there is no involvement of them behind these attacks. I don't believe them but there must be some foreign element involved to destabilize Pakistan who's also against these peace talks.

And what's with 5 posts in a row? Surely, all you need to say can be said in one post. You're derailing your own thread by bringing IK and PTI in to it even before they have made a statement. This will ensure that this thread, like every other in PA, will turn into a mud-slinging competition between PTI supporters and opponents.

This is obviously not the first attack on Islamabad and would not be the last. A few weeks back I opened up a thread that the areas around Islamabad have become safe havens for all kind of criminals. Let the interior ministry carry out investigations and declare who has carried out this attack first.

Some journalists are claiming that Ghazi Force or Lal Masjid brigade has conducted this attack. The government should take Molana Burqa's statement of 500 suicide bombers seriously, apparently 2 detonated their vests today.

All this talk about negotiation by Imran and Govt. though there should have been no talk about negotiation because there is nothing to negotiation (as far as many are concerned) ... and retaliation in form of operation should have started long time ago. Due to all this delay tactics by Imran, and government complying, many innocent lives got lost, killed by Taliban
My question from pro-negotiation lobby, and that includes PTI and PMLN, is that, what is on the negotiating table ... what government could give and expect from Taliban?
Whatever Pakistan would give to Taliban, would that going to be norm what government of Pakistan would be willing to give to any armed rebels demanding something from Pak government ... that includes releasing their armed men fighting and killing Pakistanis and giving them blanket pardon?
What about those Pakistanis whom Taliban slaughtered ... should they expect any justice for themselves ... and if they want revenge (Qasas) instead of compensation (though unlikely they may even get any compensation), how would they get that, as their revenge is responsibility of government to fulfil? ...
And if victims of Taliban would not get justice, than what they should do? ... Pick up arms against government and those supporting negotiation (PTI, JI, and PMLN) and/or their leaders who care less about victims and their plight?

Some Ahrar ul Hind group has accepted responsibility and not unsurprisingly they did it for imposing shariah in the country.
I expect the Interior Ministry to take the nation into confidence of who has carried out this attack, and what the government plans to do about them.

An offshoot of the Pakistani Taliban, the relatively unknown Ahrar-ul-Hind, has threatened to stage suicide attacks across the country if the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan agrees to a ceasefire with the Government of Pakistan.
In a one-page statement, available with Newsweek Pakistan, a spokesman of the group has warned that they are not bound by any ceasefire agreement. “The TTP mujahideen are our brethren … but we are not bound to follow a ceasefire of any kind with the Pakistan government if they agree to it.”
The Government of Pakistan initiated peace talks with the Pakistani Taliban last week. In the first formal meeting between the government- and Taliban-appointed committees, both sides agreed that the talks should be conducted within the framework of the Constitution. They also agreed that the scope of the talks should be confined to the tribal areas, not the entire country. On Saturday, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and Maulana Yousaf met the Taliban’s shura in North Waziristan to submit the government’s demands and hear the militants’ response.
The Ahrar-ul-Hind statement, dated Feb. 9 and written in Urdu, criticizes the decision to focus on the tribal areas. “Some of our leaders have become prey to compromises and have agreed to conduct dialogue only to get the tribal areas liberated,” said Asad Mansoor, a spokesman for the group. “Restricting talks to the tribal areas amounts to neglecting the urban areas and the mujahideen,” he added.
According to the statement, the Ahrar-ul-Hind has been assembled under Amir Maulana Umar Qasmi, who will lead the group independently of the TTP. “We will now continue activities [previously conducted with other jihadi organizations] on our own by the wish of God,” it said. “We belong to the urban areas of Pakistan and so will restrict our activities to the urban areas.”
Hinting at a deeper discord, a senior Taliban leader told Newsweek Pakistan that Ahrar-ul-Hind would respect the TTP’s decisions and would follow its accords. However, the Ahrar-ul-Hind statement unequivocally claims the group will never accept a ceasefire that is restricted to the tribal areas.

^^^ Govt should negotiate with Ahrar-ul-Hind too ... bring them on the table ... offer them what they want. Who knows, maybe they (Ahrar--ul-hind) just want Imran and Nawaz to move their kids from UK to Pakistan and ... a school where they can learn from Imran as teacher, disco dancing and how to patao rich ladies. Appeasing anyone who pick up arms or blow Pakistanis to death should be government policy, as solution of everything is negotiation ... that is Red book of Imran, Nawaz and Munawar Hasan says.

^ Agreed! But you should dig out the list of agreements that successive governments have done with these groups since 2001. Musharraf was the worst of them.

As far as I am concerned, all who talk about negotiation or did negotiation were wrong. I do not want to be like those who would bend backward trying to defend something that is as obscene as negotiating with those who kill innocent Pakistanis unashamed and keep doing it as well as openly claiming it.

Taliban terrorism and agreements under Musharraf was different ... that has no comparison with today situation. Then, it was giving refuge to non-Pakistanis and not waging war in Afghanistan using Pakistani soil. Musharraf tried to talk with taliban about that.
Today and about lal-Masjid, situation is much different. It is about independence of Pakistan and Pakistanis to follow what they believe, as these Kharjees want to impose their Shaitanic religious beliefs over Pakistan.
People have died fighting for their religious and political independence, but it seems some in Pakistan want to sell Pakistani right of independence (religious and political) to Taliban.

What we should do is launch military offensive / carpet bombing in Karachi, Islamabad, all of KPK and FATA. Only this will ensure that terrorism is eliminated.
