Arkan-Al-Islam "Shahada"

assalamualaikum to all Muslims,

“Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah; wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadur-rasulallah.”

“I bear witness that there is no god except Allah; and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”

Kalima-Tayyiba: Laa Ilaaha Illallah Muhammad ur Rasulullah.
"“None is worth of worship but Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”.

The first pillar of Islam, Shahadah means declaration of faith. It summarizes the whole of Islamic belief. The other four pillars make up Ibadah which is done to gain Allah’s favor. Shahadah concerns belief in Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and Risalah (Messengership) of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

Islam is a monotheist religion and its followers are called Muslims. Every Muslim, believes that Allah is completely alone. Allah has no father or mother, no son or daughter, no grandparents. Allah was not born no does he have children. He is One; He is Unique; He is not the father of any one, nor He has or had any father. He is Almighty and Self-Sustaining. He is there forever, and will be there forever.
Allah neither sleeps nor eats. Allah is eternal and everlasting. There is no other like Allah. He is the Creator of the entire world and universe. He commands, Kun Faya-kun“Be and it is”!. Allah is free from all human qualities. Allah is divine and unlike anything we know.

*“Worship Allah and join no partner with Him.” [An-Nisaa 4:36]

“Say, He is Allah, the One. The eternally besought by all. He begetteth not, nor was He begotten. And there is no one comparable to Him.” [Al-Ikhlas 112:1-4]*

The belief in the Prophet Muhammad (on whom be peace) as the servant and Messenger of Allah completes one’s faith. The Holy Prophet was the greatest of all the Prophets of Allah, yet he was only a human being with no share in Divinity. This is a very important belief that keeps Muslims from associating partners with Allah. This part of the Declaration of Faith where reinforces the first part of Allah being the only Supreme Being with no partners also establishes the absolute authority of the Holy Prophet as the Messenger of Allah, who must be obeyed as well in all the matters of faith. The Holy Prophet is the last prophet who brought us the last Book (the Holy Quran) to be followed. He lived among his people for a long time and his life is documented in utmost detail. He lead his followers by example. The way he lived his life and admonished his followers to live their lives is called Sunnah of the Holy Prophet.

*“He who obeys the messengers obeys Allah.” [An-Nisaa 4:80]

“O people! Muhammad has no sons among ye men, but verily, he is the Messenger of Allah and the last in the line of Prophets. And Allah is aware of everything.” (33:40)

Muhammad :saw:, observed:

“The tribe of Israel was guided by prophets. When a prophet passed away, another succeeded him. But no prophet will come after me; only caliphs will succeed me.” (Sahih Bukhari) *

This declaration make one to completely submit to the Will of Allah and that is why one who declares this belief is called a Muslim - one who completely submits to the will of Allah.
