ARIANE launches India's INSAT 3E

INSAT 3E is the 11th Indian spacecraft to be orbited by Ariane, extending a relationship that extends back to the 1981 launch of India’s first satellite, Apple.

With a operational lifetime of 15 years, INSAT 3E will provide telecommunications and video broadcasting coverage from an orbital slot of 55 deg. East (above the Indian Ocean). The satellite was designed, assembled and integrated by the Indian Space Research Organisation in the southern Indian city of Bangalore.

Our heartfelt compliments to ISRO and all Indians and well wishers
