Has anyone ever argued in front of their children?
What are the consequences of this?

Re: Arguing in front of the little ones...
I haven't (yet) although I'm sure at some point we will- we're only human, after all. I do remember my parents arguing in front of us and I gotta say, I much, much preferred that to the long silences and ensuing hostility that we witnessed at times growing up. much healthier to talk it out, even if you are at a slightly higher volume than normal, than ignoring each other after making a few snippy remarks.

Re: Arguing in front of the little ones...
As long as you don't take it out on them, and don't go over the top, mum and dad disrespecting each other isnt really a good thing for kids to see...
Re: Arguing in front of the little ones...
I think it's not fun for kids to see parents argue, but I think the silences and muffled arguments can be worse. As long as there isn't name-calling, cruelty, and threats (all of which I've witnessed), I think it's okay once in a while.
Re: Arguing in front of the little ones...
Passive aggressive is the worst - that being said I agree with Sahar, as long as the conversation is respectful then there's nothing wrong with having heated discussions once in a while.
Re: Arguing in front of the little ones...
Agreed that keeping things bottled up is not right.
A heated argument is harmless though, right?
Re: Arguing in front of the little ones...
Heated arguments can make the children feel insecure so as parents we should avoid them. But little arguments do happen and sometimes you aren't in a situation to just swallow them. We try to be careful in the kinds of words we are using for each other. Kids pick up on these and make impressions.
