are you studying subjects that you really like & match your interests and passion?

Very often students of Fsc, Matric, O levels, A levels & universities are not sure which subjects should they go for and end of the day they are unhappy with their fields of career or study. A successful career is not always a satisfying career and leads to stress and effects our daily life .

Did you know that 100% of all American and UK colleges and universities use personality testing to recommend subjects and careers of interest to students? Do you think Pakistan also needs this?

Re: are you studying subjects that you really like & match your interests and passion

Hi CC , I agree that Pakistan is lacking big time in appropriate Career counselling. However i feel personality testing and those kind of things dont make a huge difference at all.

Its a very competitive world out there. Careers needs to be planned depending on the market need basis and the changing times. For example, if the personality testing says someone is good with numbers and analysis and should go for Accountancy or finance profession. That can be challenged coz there is already an influx of Accountancy professionals around the globe!

On the contrary, if someone decides to become a food technologist , for example , chances are they might be able to get a job quicker.
Personality can be developed overtime.

There's no career counselling in Pakistan. For the most part it's decided by the parents what their kids have to do, which puts a lot of pressure especially if the kid doesn't have the aptitude. Like I wanted to do engineering but which one? I got admission in mechanical in Lahore and electrical in taxila. I was willing to go ahead with mechanical as I didn't need to leave the city then, but my father convinced me on the latter and I think that was the right decision.
