As for my 2 dollars for the thread, well, my respected senior brothers have already hit the nail on the head, hence I don’t need to echo them.

Some wise girl in life 1 once said: If it’s a man’s fault, he must apologize to his wife. If it’s the woman’s fault, the man must still apologize because maafi maangney sey koi chota nahi ho jaata.

Same applies here: A man must buy everything for her wife, love her, spoil her because it’s his duty. The work that a woman does at home (provided that she’s a home maker), she’s doing a favor to the husband because she doesn’t really have to do the house work. It’s the man’s job to provide a maid for his wife, damnit!
