Are you patriotic?

Re: Are you patriotic?

Pakistani is a Pakistani wherever they live.
I always support and feel proud being a Pakistani and identified as a Pakistani. Everything about Pakistan and its soul has an emotional effect on me.

Pakistan Zindabad!! always

Re: Are you patriotic?

If I ask you what are you? and where are you from? what would you say?

Re: Are you patriotic?

another Pakistani bashing remark from post dec 2004 joiners,
every nation on this planet has its own regional identities withing a country, Americans all are not same but americans, British take pride on being Welsh, Scotish or English.
Indians take pride being a gujrati, punjabi, tamal, bengali. as well as indian etc

your definition of ethinic origin naming as nation may fit for yourself, you may not feel proud of being a Pakistani, but only a Baloch. its your personal feeling and nothing wrong with that.

but that logic cant be applied to everyone.

Re: Are you patriotic?

I dont consider ranjhans post as Pak bashing.

They merely gave their personal perspective, i actually understand and feel alot of what they are saying.
and i feel they were making avery valid point especially when it comes to a "new" country

Re: Are you patriotic?

The biggest thing I hate in the world is a "ghadar" a traitor.

Re: Are you patriotic?

^^^ agree all the way.

Re: Are you patriotic?

What the hell are you doing over here at Gupshup?

I love Pakistan all the time. Up down who cares even though I haven’t lived that much for over 8 years. I love saying Pakistan Zindabad when our team kicks Indian butt.

Just because our beautiful country is poor, uneducated, dirty whatever doesn’t mean you should hate it right. Heart is clean, Passion is pure…all the way baby.

Re: Are you patriotic?

good to see paki pride is alive and kicking

:jhanda:

Re: Are you patriotic?

shak..i guess i would like to tell them ima human being who was created by Allah swt and originated in the Heavens..but thats not the answer people are looking for. i'd just tell them that i was born here..but my parents are from another country..and i guess that would be my ethnicity. but telling people what i am..when they ask..does not mean that im proud of what i am...or nationalistic in any way. i'm proud of who i am..and a part of who i am..is being muslim. everything else is superficial and just plain dumb.

Re: Are you patriotic?

I agree with some of the more wise posters here...Pakistani is an artificial grouping, which does not inspire any sense of belonging for me atleast and I am sure it does the same for majority of the folks in Pakistan, for they take more pride in their ethnic group more then being Pakistanis.....

Re: Are you patriotic?

:D
This thread is such a great example of why PAksitan is the way it is.

Re: Are you patriotic?

ok there is no need to be linked to a third world country like Pakistan for you. every human is created by Allah swt.
being part of a tribe, a nation is encouraged in islam, all are equal but tribes and groups are created so we identify and know eachother well.

of course its your own personal matter to love or hate being called as Pakistani.

but if your only reason for not relating to Pakistan cause other may look down on you is not the correct.

feel proud who u are. there is nothing wrong ethincally belong to Pakistan.

Re: Are you patriotic?

^
She is a Muslimah of Brahmin-Hindu Indian descent, she's not Paki.

Re: Are you patriotic?

With British people the overall racial makeup, language (with the exception of a few Welsh people) and culture is the same for all of them, only the accent varies. The same is the case with ‘true Americans’.

India… See that’s the thing, India accepts it is a multi-national state unlike Pakistan which is trying to enforce this artificial culture on the entire country, India recognises 18 languages and there is no pressure on anyone to learn Hindi, in Pakistan if somebody can’t speak Urdu you guys mock them and call them Jaahil, Daggey, Paindoo, Akhrot/Koochi. This mentality needs to stop, and if Pakistan is to survive it should stop suppressing other peoples identity and let them promote and develop their cultures and language.

Another thing, an American, British or Indian identity is probably worth sacrificing ones ethnicity over but not Pakistani, no matter how passionate a Paki gets over his country nobody else (whether it be from the Muslim World or the Western World) thinks very highly of Pakistan or Pakistanis and so they shouldn’t, we’ve achieved nothing substantial in our entire history, despite what our president may say the country’s future is in the gutter, and of course Pakistan being only a nascent ‘nation’ it has no primitive heritage or a language and culture to cry home about because the regional ones are being suppressed, unlike North India which is the cradle of great civilisations and cultures and it’s languages as well as our eastern Pakistani languages are derivatives of Sanskrit.

And no I’m not a Baloch I’m Hindko with a bit of Pashtun and Punjabi blood.

Re: Are you patriotic?

yeah im not pakistani...dads hindu..moms parsi..and they're from india..but im not ashamed that they are from india..but im just saying..i don't have to be like proud or anything..i have accepted what i am and think nothing of it..as i don't want myself linked to a thirdworld country..thats not the reason at all. there is a difference between being from a nation...and then being nationalistic. i can say..i am indian..and stop right there. then..i could also say..i am indian...jai hind..sing the vande materam..do a little dance..and go around telling people how proud of my nation and hows its like the best place on earth..thats showing i am patriotic and nationalistic. we were born into nations and tribes before the revelation of the Quran and Islam..now after islam has already entered our lives..lets see how good of a job we can do coming together and uniting under Islam...putting aside the whole nations and tribe thing.

Re: Are you patriotic?

^
I agree, Islam allows us to recognise our tribe, nation and language but we're not allowed to be proud of these things and/or put them before Islamic unity.

I mean Pakistan as well?? It's such a silly thing to be proud of, it's not even a nation and it's a **** hole, sort it out. These FOBs are mad, expecting us to hate and love for something as silly as Pak.

Re: Are you patriotic?

I am not frcing you guys to love Pakistan, either you love it or not. its just simple.
question was " Are you patriotic?" you both have your own reasons not to be one.

There is nothing wrong with that. everyone raised differently, spend life differently, and also think differently.

I just dont agree with the logic, if our country is doing good or bad, that can link to not being proud of Pakistani.

Nation of Pakistan may be nascent, cultures, civilizations it has in itself are part of Pakistan. Indus valley, Harrapa, Ghandara all are our roots. so you cant say we dont have our own culture history.

I agree with you on one point though, suppression of regional languages, and i think national language should also be taught at schools. now all provinces except Punjab they teach their own languages in schools. I strongly think Punjabi should also be taught at schools. cause it will die out this way.

Re: Are you patriotic?

what a load of bunk..

Re: Are you patriotic?

^^ Which part? The Islam and Quran part, I'd presmue.....

Re: Are you patriotic?
