Are you eating less beef due to the mad cow incident?

Are you eating less beef? Some of my relatives are trying to stay away from eating beef for awhile, due to the mad cow incident in America/Canada. I was telling my bhabhi who eats only zabiha, that some halal meat comes from Australia, but that didnt deter her.

I have not changed my eating habits due to this. What about you?

Most of the halal meat comes from Australia???

Well, atleast in California, all the halal meat (atleast from where we buy) is from ranches near by and is certified hand slaughtered halal. We have not cut down on our beef consumption, cz

#1 We don’t really eat beef all that much anyway, so reducing it, for us, would mean going to zero.
#2 Cow feed rules were changed a few years ago, so only really old cows are affected.
#3 Its transmitted thru brain and spinal chord tissues, and we don’t eat any dish which includes cow’s brain or spinal chord tissues.

"Are you eating less beef due to the mad cow incident?"

What some mad cow trampled someone to death? No need to hold this single incident against all cows thats just silly!

I'll keep on eating them regardless, unless they prove it was premeditated or something.

Yes Faisal, a lot of halal stores get their halal meat imported from Australia, not all of course. smile

Thap, premeditated? haww

nothing tastes like beef :yummy:

we dont cook beef at home unless as qeema or shami kabab…but now that i am working and amazing bihari kababs r avlbl downstairs for lunch plus there is a shop near my house whose beef kabab rolls i am addicted to, i eat almost three to five beef meals a week :yummy:

mad cow disease is not a concern here in pakistan

Nahi bhai hum to Vegetarian hain

We don't use it a whole lot. Just veal for qeema and kebabs. Still do.
