But don't drink too much.... you can kill yourself with a water overdose, no joke. :)

Re: Are you drinking enough water

I drink 3 liters of H2O everyday. It helps prevent water retention and if you are suffering from it then it helps get rid of it and also ofcourse it is a very hot region in which I am living in so water is helping me combat dry skin, dehydration etc etc.

many ppl dun drink enuff water!

a person shud drink 1 to 1,5 litres every day.
some ppl suffer from dehydration probs and shud drink more.

Aisha jee drinks 3 litres and in her case dat is what she shud drink as she mentions it.

me also drink 2,5 to 3 litres every day.

Re: Are you drinking enough water

Good thread.Indeed, taking of sufficient amt of water will defend many diseases, besides helping from dehydration. It also helps to produce more urine and this clearing body off impurities and unwanted germs, more blood flow in the body including to brain and thus a better thinking process.Makes more sweat means body's temperature is balanced correctly :)

Re: Are you drinking enough water

people come up with random numbers of how much water someone should be drinking.....

there is actually a measure based on your body size.

can someone please find and post it?

Re: Are you drinking enough water

There are many different methods out there to calculate the amount of water each person needs, this seems to be the most simple:

For every pound of body weight, you need about half an ounce of fluid intake per day. For instance, if you weigh 140 lbs, simply multiply 140 by 0.5 to estimate your daily fluid needs in ounces, then divide by eight to estimate your fluid needs in cups per day, rounding up to the nearest full cup. [example: 140 x .5 = 70 ounces; 70 ounces divided by 8 = 9 cups of fluid per day]

0.5 ounces x Body Weight in Pounds = Daily Fluid Requirement in ounces
