I am not afraid of dark instead I find it romantic.But I am scared of going alone in the night like you know scary stuff comes to my mind what if some one comes and kills you or some hyenas or mountain loin comes and what can you do about it.But in your house backyard especially in desert the night looks beautiful.I can easily sleep in dark room but sometimes my children come into the room so there is always night light on.

Dont like curtains either, it has to be bright and airy.

I need TV on (sleep mode) at a low voice before my sleep and fan to be on at a low speed regardless heater or AC is on!

but I ain't afraid of darkness however I dont like bad jins in the dark!
