Yahudi, I was only trying to explain the thinking on our side. This might be going on in the back of his mind, even if he wasn't aware of it. Since, you are not a Muslim, it probably will not make sense to you. I didn't know when I replied that you were a Non-Muslim. It wasn't a proper reply for you. Just like you do good towards the other person regardless of his religion, the other person should also do good to you in return (even if he is a Muslim and Islam insists on that than any other religion).
But in simple words, the reason why you will find a Muslim eager to find another one is that "birds of a feather flock together" and in this case the birds have so much in common.
