I missed the "without nurture" part. just realised what you ment and i agree,but not just women, anyone without nurture be it man or women will want to please and do good things for their family. Example in case a husband who was beaten and ignored by his father would want to be a great loving father himself.
Not necessarily, most men who are abusive toward stheir wives and kids....were themselves abused as children...in some generations it just repeats, until someone stops the cycle, realizes that what they're doing isn't right...and that beating a wife and children isn't right

Yes I took that in the way you said. But t could mean as if the trait of pleasing is somehow wrong and it is because they are not trained (well). Hence it was unnecessary to add. :)
Women - in a abusive relationship don't continue the relationship due to pleasing. I think it's more due to fear, and then out of fear they do their best to please, to prevent further abuse.
It's a vicious circle. I have seen instances - where a women does something and the man may hit her, this is his way of asserting control - I have seen it diminish a women's character - it's saddening.
