We got it wrong when we thought that we had been divinely ordained to conquer India as it is today. In fact what we have (Pakistan) is “what we have conquered as ordained”. But will we go to Paradise for it?
A column in one of our leading Urdu dailies spoke about the great jihadi cleric Maulana Allah Wasaya Qasim who had found a hadith saying that those who fight the jihad of Islam against Hind (India) would be welcomed to Paradise.
According to the columnist, when Allah Wasaya showed the hadith to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif the latter was so taken aback that he bit his finger between his teeth. The book of hadith was a compilation by one Safdar Khan Safdar.
The death of Allah Wasaya, at the age of 36, was commemorated in a mosque in Islamabad. Among the audience were Maulana Masood Azhar of the banned Jaish-e-Muhammad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil of the banned Harkatul Mujahideen and General (Retd) Hameed Gul, formerly of the not-yet banned ISI.
Does the hadith enjoin upon us to conquer India? Hind means India in Arabic. Hadith began to be collected around the time when the Muslims had actually invaded India. Sindh was conquered in the beginning of the 8th century AD.
The man who sent a Syrian-Arab army to Sindh was a very cruel man — cruel to the Muslims of Iraq. One wonders if he finally landed up in Paradise.
People in the West thought of this part of the world in a very restricted way.
The Greeks got the word India from Indus which they called Indos. The actual name of the river was Sindhu meaning river. In Mahabharata, Sindhudesh is a territory “to the west”. It is definitely not the whole of India as we know it today.
The Arabs got to know India through arithmetic. Arabic hindsa (numeral) and muhandas (engineer) are derived from there. Hindis is graceful man. The Arabs got their numerals from India. Arabic names seem related. A female relative of the Prophet (PBUH) was Hinda.
Hind also means a hundred camels in Arabic. The name Hinda could be related. In Persian, hindu means the inhabitant of Hind. There is an Arabic plural of Hindu: hunud. In Pakistan, it comes in handy when twinned with yuhud (Jews) to express collective hatred: yuhud-o-hunud.
The contact with Persians must have been good before racism took over. Hindu in Persian means black, slave, thief and infidel. There are idioms coined with the word which are quite uncivilised. A big cowpat is hindwana. It is also the big melon.
The mountain that separates Pakistan from Afghanistan and Central Asia in the north is called Hindukush, killer of Hindus or thieves. It could have started as Hindugush. Gush is an Old Persian word meaning pleasant.
In classical India, neither Hind nor Hindu is to be found. Both are foreign words adopted locally in recent times. Greeks and Iranians who coined the name never meant India as it is today.
The tomb of Darius (522-486 BC) at Naqsh-e-Rustam mentions two distinct countries as his subjects: Gandhara (North Pakistan) and Hindus (inhabitants of Sindh). Greek historian Herodotus mentions the fact too.
To the east, the name given to a territory in northern India was Bharat Varsh. This too was not the whole of India as we know it today.
A Hindu, in the strict sense of the word is an inhabitant of Sindh. The Hindu billionaire family in the UK, the Hindujas, are correctly named because they are from Sindh. But today people of Sindh are mostly Muslims and the original Hindus are doing poorly as a minority.
Poor Maulana Allah Wasaya was late in his discovery. He caused a lot of jihadi organisations to be banned through his mistake. The Muslims had got to Hind (not the real one) and ruled it for a long time as a partly unified state as never earlier done.
In 1947, they got what was really Hind and drove the non-Muslims out of it. (Bengal was never included in Hind, so we let East Pakistan go in 1971.)
Whether anyone will go to Paradise for it will be decided by Allah. *

Yeah sure; why not ? But why you wanna leave over 140 million muslims of India and over 110 million muslims of Bangladesh? They are also muslims of Indian subcontinent and their homeland should be pakistan( by your defination of pakistan ). But sorry my friend; they are happy where ever they are. And I believe most of my pakistani brethren are happy with their lives , except a few who do not like to live in peace and let others live in peace.

No one has the right to take over ones home. I may not be very religious but i am sure no faith/system would allow that. WE should be concered with properly managing ourselves. We need to first ' conquer ' ourselves , improving our lifestyle and getting rid of the filth that exists in our system.
Muslims Ruled India for some centuries. The British ruled them for many decades. It is about time the Hindus ruled India for a while. Watch out, the Americans are coming (culturally speaking).

India was and does belong to Muslims. Since Muslims are the best nation created, we have a right to rule the whole world. I would say instead of conquering it lets make India Muslim by reason, logic and education. Afterall, its the people of the land who have a right to rule.

This rubbish. Why saying India belonging Muslims? Also Christans and Hindus and Jains and Bhudism and Jewism and Parsism and all. All religon good I think but not country by religon.
Because religon changing for many reasons. Also one priest say x but one more priest saying y! same way one mulla saying this but one more mulla saying that ... so what you say is ok and what not ok?
for exsample some days ago all muslims parents were Hindus before changing in India. so why only Muslim have India? wrong
